he' not here to give back to Aussir football! He takes 80% of Victory's takings! He's here for the money! $$$

Kewell coming to Victory has sparked my nephew's interest in the A-League so it's certainly working! Now only if they would lower ticket prices :P.

Schwarzer is approaching 40 isn't he? Maybe might just retire rather than return. If they can land Cahill in the next few years, that'll be the biggest Aussie coup.

If the only thing he cared about was the cash he would've gone to The Middle East...
I for one am incredibly excited about Harry playing in the A-Leauge. I couldn't care less about how much he's getting paid and neither should the general public that are getting treated to see a bloke of his quality play in our league.

You might be right about Schwarzer, I'll stay hopeful though :P
It's interesting that you say that about Cahill, because though I don't ever doubt for a second who the better player is right now, I think Kewell's feats have been underrated because of all his injuries. Let's not forget that he debued for Leeds in the PL when he was just 18 years of age and when he was transferred to Liverpool, other clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan and even Barcelona were interested. Not exactly small clubs in world football :P
And he then went on to win the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions league with Liverpool finishing his career there with 12 goals from 93 appearences.
I'd say he just has the nod over Cahill as to who would be a bigger A-League signing.
Wow, that was longer than I had planned...  :P  ???

Justin Bieber

Well point taken ;).

*Wouldn't it be horrible if I replied back with 3 words to all that? :P.

Indeed, a Kewell in his prime was 8). Right now though, Cahill is a better player. If we go on feats, no doubt you're right :).

12 from 93 isn't good at all. IMO, I think everyone is bias as he's Australian. Kewell was good for Leeds for about a season and a half and that's about it. Cahill is a much better player just has been to smaller clubs for less money...

Timmy has scored 54 goals from 200 Appearances for Everton and is the Vice-Captain for them as well. Also scored 24 goals for the Aussies from 55 Appearances...

CrowsFan

So Q you are judging Kewell's career solely on the number of goals he scored? That is just plain stupid considering he plays as a winger. That is just like saying Pavel Nedved wasn't a good player because he didn't score lots of goals, when he is easily one of the best wingers of the decade!

Kewell is without a doubt the most talented soccer player Australia has ever had, Cahill is a best player for Australia at the moment, but Kewell was far superior in his peake

Master Q

I wasn't judging him on the amount of goals he's scored, Chumps did.

IMO Cahill is way better than Kewell.

Sounds like you were judging them on goals

Exactly. Well said.

When?  ???
All I said was Kewell had a reasonable goal scoring rate.
Did I, at one point say 'Kewell scored this many, and Cahill scored this many, thus meaning one is better than the other'
No, no I did not.

BlueStorm

Kewell a more skilful player, who shone brighter for a period than any Aussie ever did
Cahill clearly the best of the current batch, a star who has fights for everything his body can provide
Let's just appreciate them both for what they are, trying to compare them is pointless me thinks...

Schwartzer just turned 39 the other day, and has stated he has no intention of coming back to the A League to wind down at any stage. In his mind, he will still be keeping for Fulham & Australia as we head to Qatar 2022  ;)

Master Q

I wonder how many more years he has left... In his last EPL match he wasn't taking the goal-kicks because of his back or something...

Master Q

Didn't catch much of the game - I saw Emerton missed a penalty but how were they other than that?
