Hawks_1976

Ranked 697th with 4 trades and $23k in the bank.
Don't really care about league ( 11-0 ), 2nd best team averaging about 1880pw, myself 2018pw. Just trying to get as high a ranking as possible.

B : Goddard, Duffield, Lockyer, Gilbert, Gilbee, Hodge, Broughton
    ( Pearce, McNamara )
M : Swan, Bartel, JSelwood, Sewell, Kornes, Cross ( Anthony, Beams )
R : Cox, Z.Clarke ( White, Spencer )
F : Chapman, Didak, Okeefe, Davey, Delidio, R.Murphy, Franklin
    ( Wright, Hogan )

Weaknesses : No backline cover, 2/3/4th ruckman are weak, Franklin and no real forward line cover although Hogan getting a kick for now. Only 4 trades left.

Strengths: Team is virtually premium all over; scored 2342 two weeks ago and haven't scored below 2000 for 5 weeks. Even with Cox out.

My plan is to wait a couple more weeks for Beams to peak then cash him in and upgrade White to a premium ruck, being Jolly, HMac or Fraser.
I am tempted to cash in Wright for Ballantyne, gives me 50k and bench cover but is this too risky with 4 trades left considering I have a ruck upgrade to consider?

Hawks_1976

Didn't trade and took my ranking up to 382nd.

Rumours are that WCE will cotton wool Cox up and he could miss most, if not all of the rest of the year. If he does miss this leaves your rucks in massive trouble, but White should come back in to the Swans side after kicking 20 goals in the last two weeks in the reserves. If Cox does miss this week, I'd trade him- probably to Sandi/HMAC/Tippet/Mitch Clark.

But apart from that, lovely team. And u will have 3 trades for LTI's...

Hawks_1976

While I'm tempted to trade Cox, I've decided to sit tight as both Jesse White and Zac Clarke are playing. I don't expect much out of them but Jesse White did kick 20 goals in 2 weeks in the twos and Sandi out will increase Zacs TOG. 50 DT points from each of them would be great.

In the past I have fallen for hype and traded uncessecarily. Eg: Shaun Higgins, seeing the way he was hobbling around and then the media saying he could miss up to 6 weeks had me hitting the trade button. As we now know, he kept playing. I traded him for Gia who is now consequently out. Traded Gia out but I've used 2 trades instead of none.

I want the facts set in stone before I act on Cox.

Have my sights set on a top 300 berth this week, will keep you posted. The climb is getting harder now as teams above me are obviously decent. But I'm hoping with names like Adcock, PBurgoyne, Cox, Sandi, Fraser, SJ, Pav and Bartel out that I can get an edge on a few teams above me!

I replyed to your message by the way...I think it worked?

Never could understand those that just gave Higgins away without concrete evidence of a long term injury. What a waste of a trade.

Hawks_1976

Yeah it was one of the dumbest things I've done for the year ( trading Higgins ).

So I went into R16 with the ruck duo of Jesse White and Zac Clarke and they got me 147 total! The Swans playing White ( 89 this week ) forward in Hall's absence has me contemplating him staying as 2nd ruck now and trading Cox for anyone I want.

This week I scored 2349 and overall ranking is 244th. I thought that a score of 2300+ would see me ranked in the top 100 for the week but there were some massive scores, someone got 2570 which I have never seen in DT ever!

snapper77

well done hawky..all the best for the following weeks. New today on coxy is that he wont play this week either thursday will tell the truth of coxys claim..

Hawks_1976

Have been away for a few weeks.

In the meantime my ranking has improved to 132nd overall.
But no trades left!

Team now is:

B : Goddard, Broughton, Duffield, Lockyer, Gilbert, Gilbee, Hodge [ Pearce, McNamara ]
M : Swan(c), Bartel, JSelwood, Sewell, Kornes, Cross [ Anthony, Beams ]
R : Clark, White [ Z.Clarke, Spencer ]
F : Chapman, Didak, O'Keefe, JBrown, Delidio, Davey, Franklin [ Hogan, Wright ]

I've not scored below 2000 now for 9 weeks straight and am only 82 points from the 100th ranked side. Aiming for a top 100 finish now and crossing my fingers on the injury front! 6 of my bench players played on the weekend which helps.

Came out of the blocks firing with big scores to Swan, Lockyer and Didak setting me up for a big score.
But Sunday brought(on) me undone, finishing on a very modest 2009 and my ranking slipped to 154th overall.
With 2 weeks to go, top 100 is a slim chance. A return of Chapman will help my cause.

roo boys!

cmon u can do it! Good team . Tons better than mine! Let's hope there's not a Gilbert repeat!

Watto

I'm now 1417th overall, and the only differences from your team to mine are:
Broughton vs Enright+
Duffield vs Newman+
Gilbert vs Fisher+
(Pearce, McNamara vs Grimes, Petrenko)

Selwood vs Ablett+
Kornes vs Judd+
Sewell+ vs Kirk
Cross (now Anthony/Beams) vs Hasleby
(Anthony/Beams, Cross vs Dangerfield, Swift)

Clark+ vs McIntosh
White vs Kreuzer+
(Clarke, Spencer vs White, Trengove)

Chapman+ vs S Johnson
O'Keefe+ vs Harvey
Deledio+ vs Jurrah
(Hogan, Wright vs Grant, M Brown)

Good luck with making up those points into top 100, I'm hoping for top 1000 now

Hawks_1976

Thanks Watto.
Anthony is a luxury to have on my bench, scored 114 in Cross' absence last week. But hoping Cross will be back for R22.
Getting Chappy back this week is a bonus and am looking like I will field a full squad again this week.
Was let down by low scores last week from Goddard, Gilbert, Broughton, Kornes, Selwood and Sewell who I think will all bounce back with better scores this week.
Am really hopeful for something near 2200, I know this squad is capable of that having eclipsed this 3 times in the last 6 weeks. That should push me up a few spots with any luck.
Yep top 100 would be fantastic, previous best was 4000th and I'm starting to get a good feel for DT; my 4th season.
Good luck with a top 1000 finish too.

Hawks_1976

It was a high class week, a score of 2140 from me saw me slip another 8 places to 162nd overall.
It will take something special now to get top 100.
I could be in a bit of trouble too in R22 with Chapman and Franklin to both potentially miss and Hogan as my only form of cover if he got selected.
But it's been a great year; I can't complain.
