CF, don't even start me on EPL Fantasy. Have been playing that for about 7 seasons. Each week, I look at my team - Solid! My EPL-crazed mate looks over it - Solid! I pour over the ashes weeping on Monday morning - Regularly!

I played my wildcard there too this week (at least we have 2 in that comp), and while I dumped names like Rooney, Bale & Arteta, I feel considerably better about my chances of regular high numbers there. I always finish top 5% overall, but need more than that to cut the mustard with my crew.

Apologies, promise this will be my last EPL talk in this thread. Just lazy, and responding to CF... ;)

MTTY

Still a bit hesitant about using my Wildcard so early..

Hey BlueStorm, I know you post great advise so nominated you for an award in the Exxy's.

M0nty's answer would be this is an AFL site, so don't need to include the other sections as counted sections. We all acknowledge non-AFL contributed posters, especially those who read these boards and the advise given. The name says nothing about the person behind the advise as long as it's solid :).

It's just a name, nobody really takes notice of them much anymore once I reached all of them so far :-X.

Last Question.
Carle and Rojas
Or
Vidosic and Williams
Have no Sydney players.

BlueStorm

MTTY, I had those reservations the last 2 years too.

I look at it this way:
If you were to use it in 1 or 2 months, you are essentially trying to pick the form players as the season progresses.
If you use it now, you are getting the form players, their value rises, and you have more to spend as you need replacements during the year.

Do you want to heal a wound, or prevent it happening in the first place?

Meanwhile, you are leaking points to all the teams that have their ship in shape now. Now off the top of my head, I don't remember your line-up. If you think a couple of tweaks will do the trick, hold fire. If you think wholesale changes are in order, bit the bullet  ;)

Cheers BS.

Yeah it needs quite a few changes if i am to keep up with the leaders.

I want to trade out

Rozic, Rose, Meyer and Minniecon

I am thinking Jurman (Although he will miss games through Olyroos matches i presume), Neville or Sung-Hwan, Sanchez or Nakajima-Farran and Berisha

Thoughts on that?

BlueStorm

Thanks HP, you carry the title of "Unofficial Moderator' very well  ;)
I understand the argument perfectly, I suppose I was just letting off steam after another fun week in paradise (read work). I envy you young lads still st school - don't get me wrong, I hated school, but life was certainly easier back then.

(Showing my ignorance) Pray tell, what is an Exxy?

I do spend plenty of time on this site during AFL following live scores and chat, but tend to steer away from many threads due to info overload. SC plays much differently to either soccer Fantasy comps - your initial team goes a long way to deciding SC success, both AL & EPL have much more scope for improvement on the fly.

It's all good. As I said, petty in the first place, but was feeling expansive and felt like doging  ;D

You didn't wander into the Front Bar during September/Early October? It was AWESOME!!! This is the Elxam's Awards Hub. It was the First Annual FanFooty Awards held by me :). You were nominated for the Luke Ball Award, the Quiet Achiever in the Football section :P.

I am a moderator, but it was held off until I reached my Birthday earlier this month. When m0nty gets back, I'll become an OFFICIAL Mod ;D. Just finished Year 12 and have exams starting next week. Never really worked in my life besides a week in Work Experience (where I basically did nothing besides a day spent sorting out surveys :P). Can't imagine what a real job would be like! :P.

Went Berisha Captain. Other options were Kewell or Miller or Covic.

Berisha fine i think.

BlueStorm

Jake - Wow, now that's a tough one. I think I favor Vidosic & Williams - just!
Williams takes Heart penalties, so that's always a bonus, and Vidosic should sure up the playmaker role @ the Reds if he stays fit.

Reckon Carle is a splendid buy ATM, but have reservations about Rojas. Love the lad, and reckon he is destined for big things, but would be reticent to take him on board until Victory have shown some finishing touch up forward (don't like the way he has already promised not to celebrate in front of Phoenix Fans if he scores against them).

MTTY - No problems with who you are dumping. Yes to Jurman (if only for the short term price rise), I like Sanchez, Berisha looks a good buy. As for Neville v Sung-Hwan - I figure Perth have a better chance of more clean sheets this season. I rate Vukovic a substantially better keep than Kennedy, and with Van den Brink alongside, he will have an opportunity to belt down the wing with possibly a few assists.

MTTY

Decided to go with this team after usign my wildcard. thanks for the advice guys.

GK - Covic (Tyson)

DEF- Jurman, Antonis, Van den Brink (Susak, Good)

MID- Slory, Broich, Andrezinho, Vidosic (Daniel)

FWD- Berisha, Smeltz, Van Dijk

Trades- Minniecon ----> Berisha
           Rose -----> Jurman
Meyer -------> Daniel (Only did this one as Daniel will play until Ifill gets back, then i will switch in Amini who should be back into the starting X1 by then)
           Rozic -------> Susak

BlueStorm

I gotcha Jake, been a little busy tonight  :P

HP - Sorry, I missed the lot. I will go back over the weekend to check it out. Kudos to you, you have obviously been involved with FF big/long time. Appreciate the noms, and will try and broaden my horizons a little and check out the front bar (Ha, if the missus heard me mention one my bar, think I'd be a eunuch  :'()

I didn't really start 'working' until 23, and it doesn't get any easier. Just ticked over 38, and while management sounds cushy, when it entails heading a team of 6 in a family business, it's anything but  :P Got no idea what you are studying or aiming for - all I would suggest - be yourself wherever you go. Don't kowtow or conform to fit in, be yourself and lead the way. Happy 18th!

Luigi - I am still sorely tempted to go with Covic. I would certainly pick him over Miller or Harry. Can't work out tonight's game. Reckon it will be a cracker, but whether that means an entertaining 0-0 draw, or a 3-1 Brisbane victory, I just don't know. Berisha is probably the safer bet, but I have this nagging feeling about the recruit of the year (not Harry)

Justin Bieber

Thanks Bluey (My first bird had that name :D). Haven't been apart of FF as long as others though :-X. Haha, managing the family business :P. The pressure is on from the family ;D. I don't know where I am going either if that helps!

BlueStorm

Nice work MTTY. My only suggestion woukld be to swap Slory for Daniel. Slory away from home to Roar on a stunning undefeated streak, Daniel at home after scoring at his last start there. I know Daniel often doesn't log 90 minutes, but would be hopeful he'd get at least 60, guaranteeing at least 2 points.

That's it for me for tonight lads. Enjoy what should be a great game tonight.  ;)
