Quote“He’s got some bone bruising and fat pad damage, so basically he’s got a jarred knee, which is good,” Pickering said.

QuoteThe club, however, is not as optimistic saying in a press release issued Saturday morning that "his availability to play will be guided by how the swelling settles, however, at this early stage he is unlikely to take part in the Hawks’ final next Friday night".

Bone bruising is never actually good. Especially if it is in a weight bearing joint like the knee or ankle. It can take a long time before it is comfortable running on it.

what a relief! thought he'd be out all next year aswell. could have written 2012 off forthe hawks if that happened.

A lot better than an ACL though

bloody derelicts >:(

good news for footy in general tho 8)

PowerBug

anywhere from 1 to 15 weeks for bone bruising. Hopefully for the hawks it's only 1.

I had a bad bone bruise on my knee once. I was walking after about a week, but couldn't sprint or run comfortably for about a month.

Dizzy

Did anyone see where he parked his car? it was a kilometer from away from his informal press release, jeez buddy...

Buddy has been named for this weekends match against Sydney according to "The gameplan" on One HD

Cant see him kicking too many, his confidence has got to be shot,  leaving him out might have been the best option......

only time will tell...

Coming from a Swans supporter :P

Nah, i'd have left him out too, take the gamble.

ajjewell

They showed a bit of footage of him "training" earlier today and he didn't look to be in any discomfort

PowerBug

Yeah, "training" was just walking around and kicking a football with his non-injured leg. Can't really read into that one.

ajjewell

Still, any other footage of him from this week and he has been limping pretty severely, so maybe with what is riding on the match he might be able to get up for it

Ringo

He has been named in the final team with Suckling (somewhat of a surprise) as sub.
