QuoteNATHAN Ablett's career is again on the rocks after he was delisted by Gold Coast on Monday.

QuoteThe contracts of fellow senior-listed players Michael Coad, Marc Lock, and Jack Stanlake were also not renewed, along with rookie-listed players Roland Ah Chee, Jake Crawford, Jack Stanley and Joel Tippett.

roo boys!

Lock and Coad a surprise for me!

JTip :(

Master Q

Lock, Coad and JTip big surprises for me as well.

Never got to see Nathan Ablett play  :-\ Want to see another club pick him up  ;D

Fyfe_gun

jtippett will be hot property in draft. N.ABLETT WAS SHOWER, NO-ONE WANTS HIM.
I read coad was going to be listed as an assistant coach for gold coast rather than a player. Just like GWS are looking at luke power as an assistant

Leigh Brown will also go into assistant coaching as well. It is the way the game is going and soon there will be playing assistant coaches.

Apparanetely at the Draft Camp there were 6 clubs wanting to sign Jasper Pittard from port up as an assistant rather than a player a few years back

CFC 1979

with what they still have up thier sleeves, why wouldn't you chop 8

N Ablett does give a rats ass thats why he's off surfing again. never play again
They had too many ruckmen anyway but surprised tippet went ahead of fraser

bit stiff on the rooks though

pothead

its fair enough with ablett as he showed shower all in the two matches that he actually played, but i didnt expect some of the other ones to get delisted either, i had a feeling that Tippett was going to be but i don't know why he should be though

Ringo

Just bear in mind that the Coast had to cut/de-list players like all clubs to comply with AFL rules.  Chances are that some will be picked up again in draft or Rookie list.  I am surprised that Coad was delisted before Hutchens.

Just a little thing on Coad, I read somewhere that while on the comeback from his hamstring tear, he tore the hamstring tendon. GC don't really care about now, they are looking toward the future. With this in mind, they couldn't keep a 27/28 year old with dodgy hammys on thier list.

J Tippet has now failed to make an impact at 2 clubs. Does anyone seriously think he will get a crack at another?

Ablett and his afl career is in limbo again. Really not performing like the rest of the family. The Suns should start to push forward hopefully in the future with the good young players that they do have

TheMailman

I don't think you guys realise exactly what happened.

Gold Coast had WAY too many people on their list and they were going to have to cut 7-10 for the next draft
These were the bottom 7-10 players, NOT the ones who were "shower" or "crap".

Ziplock

We all understand GC had to cull their list, this is more of a sympathy thread :P

Luigi197

Gold Coast will thrive a tiny bit more next year if they get some good draft picks to strengthen up their lines.
They need to get lucky and hope to get a player as good as Heppell, and not as bad as Bennell...
