Birchall â€" SCOTLAND

Franklin â€" CLOKE/RIEWOLDT.J/MURPHY (Which one? Don’t have enough cash for JOHNSON)

Def: Enright, Deledio, Goddard, Fisher, Gibbs, Bock, Birchall (Puopolo, McGovern, Jacobs)
Mid: Boyd, Ablett, Judd, Pendlebury, Priddis, Swan (Mzungu, Buckley, Irons)
Ruck: Cox, Jamar (McCauley, Tippett)
For: Chapman, Franklin, Petrie, O’Keefe, Riewoldt.N, Harvey, Goodes (Rioli, Richardson, Talia)

My opponent has NO TRADES left and with these POD’s

Bock         v   Adcock
Scotland?         v   Johncock

Priddis         v   Cotchin
Jamar         v   Mumford
Cloke/Riewold.J/Murphy?   v   Talia

On paper I think you have him covered
Like Birchall to Scotland
For Forwards to POD you may want to consider are Hale with Bailey being rested will get more Ruck time as well or you could go Barry Hall with Freos defence in array and playing last game so may be in for a big one.

Hall - Last 3 - 96.3. Can see the reward of having him playing in his last game...could be risky however.

Hale - Last 3 - 93. Is an interesting selection too, and once again can see the upside against the GC. If Jamar can pull 111 against Zac Smith then Hale should be in for a good score and can go forward to kick goals.

Cloke -  Last 3 - 108.3. I have heard all week he doesnt fair well against the cats. He scored 74 last time they played. If anyone has hjis average over the last couple of years that would be handy. Taylor will go with him and not sure how the concussion last week will affect him.

Riewoldt J - Last 3 - 100.3. Scored heavily last time they played North with a 136. Kicked 5 and could be on the rampage again with the tigers in good form.

Murphy - Last 3 - 84.7. Has played consistently at Etihad with an average of 94. Can blow out the 130 if firing off half back.

The player picked will match up against Talia so I guess I am looking for anyone that will give me a solid advantage...

Any votes or comments would be a great help...I'm torn!

Where's Ringo and Charliesheen when you need them...

Ringo

All good choices mate - Just got home from work.
If possible wait to see who subs are or whether any late changes from Geelong (Geelong have made a number over the  season) If Taylor is not named in Geelong's final side I would definitely consider Cloke.
If Taylor is named then it would be a toss up between Hale and Riewoldt.  With Hall forgot McPharlin still available for Freo so he may keep Baz a little quiet,

Cheers. I will hold off as late as I can.

Cloke has produced some big consistent scores of late he seems too good to ignore. Has anyone got his history against Geelong. I know its not great but with Lonergan out and Taylor concussed he seems like a good punt.

Had a look at Hale's stats, alot of 80-90's, Riewoldts slightly better with more hundreds but who is likely to go with him and Richmonds form at Etihad is a little rocky. Would prefer them to play at the G and then he would be a certain lock in.

What are your thoughts on Bob Murphy?

Ringo

Clokes supercoach scores especially in 2008 and 2009 were effected by his accuracy which is much better this year but still only managed 74 in early rounds. Has not scored over 100 V Geelong since 2008 .

Bob Murphy maybe another POD to consider.  With the way the draw id done he has only played Freo once each year and in each game has scored over 100.  With possible freedom due Freo being undermined could be a good option.

Go with gut with choice but obviously try to maximise advantage v Talia.

I think I have narrowed my selection down to CLOKE or RIEWOLDT

Cloke v Geelong (since 2005) - Average 84.3
2005 - 80
2007 - 134
2008 - 113
2009 - 34
2010 - 64 & 91
2011 - 74

- Cloke in career best form, no Lonergan and Taylor under an injury cloud.

Riewoldt v North (since 2007) - Average 86.6
2007 - 55
2009 - 86 & 83
2010 - 73
2011 - 136

- Riewoldt kicked 5 last time they played at the MCG...can he do it again at Etihad?
