Crazy not to go really! What sane person would say no to going their competitor with an offer of doubling your salary.

chris grant stayed loyal when port adelaide offered him something he couldn't resist.
nathan brown going to richmond for money wasn't a good idea as he ended up with a bad broken leg which derailed his career.

meow meow

He'll be 25 when he comes back to us.

If someone offered you 2 or 3 times your salary to go work for an opposition company, what would you do??

My loyalty is to my family. You dont go home at night to be with your team or work mates, so if you could improve your families life in one go, good luck to you!

I honestly dont think he is worth the money either, which makes taking it all the more important, he hasnt proven himself a consistent game changer, but time till tell.

Maybe why it has taken forever for these people to make decisions.

Reckon forever (IMO) doesn't come into the equation as if Ward had said I'm leaving how many games do you reckon he would have played? not many as would then be getting games into other players on the list at the club

supercoach addict

Ridiculous the amount of cash he's gonna earn.. He's not exactly Ablett or Judd standard of player.

SydneyRox

I think the forever is to do with the AFL restrictions on talking to contracted players. ??

So they cant announce anything or sign anything until after the season

Jugganauts

I liked Ward and thought he was a decent player in the making to be a member of a strong bulldog midfield for years to come but if we can collect 2 first round draft picks for him lucky he has gone, We are at the rebuilding stage and 3 picks within the first round could help us boost straight back up that ladder.

Good luck at your new club Ward hopefully you can have a good career

you cant say nathan brown moving was a bad idea because of his leg. If he didnt move he could have broken his neck in a game or he could have won a brownlow you can never say. If i were him i would be happy to leave get paid double at a club that has alot of future promise rather than getting paid half of what he can earn at the dogs sitting in the bottom 9.
