Haddin is in a slump as well now. Needs to be replaced in test cricket, to give Paine that experience which is needed at the top form of the game.
I have never rated Haddin. After Gilly retired the selectors wanted another 'all-rounder / keeper' but Haddin isn't anywhere near Gilly's class with either bat or gloves. I would love to see Tim Paine get a permanent gig, he has got some serious potential.

He can bat, but he is too inconsistant with the pine. Paine will be the way of the future so we need to focus on that now while he is young.
I still see Paine as more of a ODI batsman than Test match. Graham Manou looked the test player but he's gone now.
PB their batting shouldn't matter as much as their ability to keep wickets. Wicket-keeping is much more important in test matches and IMO I feel that Haddin is not our best keeper.
I agree that Haddin isn't our best keeper. Manou was, now Paine is. Just saying how Manou 'looked-the-part' when it came to tests.

Haha shaggy I wouldn't necessarily call Paine young. He does turn 27 at the end of the month after all, he just has a baby face!

8-6 Suited

Yeah but he is young compared to recent teams. :P

PowerBug

I was saying at school today that it would be great for Lyon if he got Sanga out for his first wicket. JUst looked at the scorecard and he did. Well done, first ball too.

CrowsFan

Haha fair enough shaggy

8-6 Suited

I believe people will find out that Lyon is a fantastic spin bowler. Not necessarily for his turn but more his flight and dips, alone with a brilliant line generally. So consistent.

#51
he has bowled too straight at times

Johnson just bowled a no ball that has cost australia a wicket

30.1
Johnson to Paranavitana, 1 no ball, Mitch strikes first ball after lunch, umpire Kettleborough thinks for a moment and slowly raises the finger, Para shuffled well across the stumps looking to flick a length ball off middle and leg, was there some bat before he took it on the pad, Sri Lanka go for the review, but wait, Mitch seems to have overstepped, don't bother about inside edges and stuff, go back to your mark, Para gets a lifeline

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PowerBug

Well done Mitch!

30.1
Johnson to Samaraweera, 1 wide, Mitch lets the bouncer rip in anger but it goes down the leg side and Thilan goes under it immediately

Sri Lanka didn't bowl a no-ball or wide during the whole innings. Johnson has just bowled two in one ball!

No foxtel. What annoys me is i got a digital radio for me birthday hoping that i could listen to these games, but NO!

The wide wasn't really a wide. It's just cricinfo trying to give us updates as quickly as possible.

Cicjose

you can watch it for free i'll pm the link if you want

Watson with the breakthrough 4/87

now 6/89

Nathan Lyon 5 wickets and his last was a beauty

Sri Lanka all out for 105

Nathan Lyon! What a find hey. Couldnt break into s.a's sheild team last year and now playing for aussies!

You could see he was a good t20 from the big bash but i was a bit sceptical to whether he could transfer that into the longer form! He has and good on him!

I cant believe husseys head was on the block last ashes! He has been our best batsmen since then! Also i would love to have the link to the site where i can watch the game for free. No foxtel sucks ;)

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Krejza took 8 on debut and look where he is.

Clarke Out: http://www.espncricinfo.com/sri-lanka-v-australia-2011/engine/current/match/516212.html

29.2
Herath to Clarke, OUT, the angle from over the stumps has worked for Herath, Clarke falls on the sweep, top-edges it as he tries to pick it from outside leg stump, it hits the rough and grips and turns, Prasanna settles under it as it comes down in front of square leg, Clarke has put Australia on top though
MJ Clarke c †HAPW Jayawardene b Herath 60 (80b 7x4 1x6) SR: 75.00

Looks like this game will be over tomorrow. Hussey'll have to bat with the tail again.
