i think we should go back to the drawing board and actually pick young players in form.... but we should be planning 3-4 years in advance starting from this summer for all forms of cricket

SL all out for 473

Matthews 105 N.O

SL have also got the ball to swing......

0/16 from 7 overs before lunch

1/84

Hughes with 50

73 behind

Marsh out for 18

hughes won against a SL referral on 99

hughes gets his 100

aus lead by 16

start of the last day

lead is 58

3/215

Hughes OUT for 126
Clarke now has 50! but he only perfoms when australia cant win  :'(

lead is 146

for Australia to win they would need to get 60 from less than 15 overs after lunch force them to chase 200 and try and bowl them out with 45 overs.....

could Australia do it?

aussie lead is out to 198 they are on the march

Clarke with 100

Current partnership 142 runs, 26.5 overs, RR: 5.29 (Hussey 43, Clarke 89)

Considering Australia only need a draw to win the series i reckon they will just continue batting for as long as they can to make sure there is no way SL can win...

admittedly they could do that but with the run rate they are going at right now they could afford to declare at some stage during the session to try and win the game

if australia can get another 50-65 in the next 10 overs i would declare and try and win the game or that may happen if Hussey gets 50 with a lead of 220 but i would hope they go for a lead of 250 to 260.

Declaration coming with 45 overs left i think

minimum left is 51

they want a run a ball for the next 5 overs then declare, i'm hoping they throw their bats at everything...

they should declare in the next 2 overs as they lose 2 overs with the change over

Clarke out for 112

but Australia deserves to fall further down the rankings by not declaring and trying to win and i hope they do because playing for a draw is against the spirit of the game.

moving up to 4th for forcing a draw  ::)

Hussey makes it a clean sweep. 3 matches, three Man of the Match Awards for the Huss.
