Hey all,
Thought I would get your thoughts on Cotchin. I have had him since the start of the year and been a nice unique player and one mid pricer who has played well. Do you guys think I should keep him or trade him? I am looking to keep him due to his consistent scores but was wondering what you guys would do.

Current midfield is:
Swan, Pendlebury, Judd, Ablett, Boyd, Cotchin (Jacobs, Mzungu, Callinan)

Mark

Yeah mate If u have kept him this far I'd stick with him...

Has Melbourne, Adelaide and North so should be looking at least 90+ each week...IMO

coolfugitiv0

How much money do you have to work with?
I'd say upgrade;
-NDS is averaging 143 since his last bye, though a tad expensive.
-Mitchell is averaging 136 over the last 3 rounds, and has an impressive run home.
-Priddis has been consistent all year, averaging 125 over his last 3 matches.

If you have the trades and the cash, definitely upgrade Cotchin, there are better options.
If you don't, just keep him.

Ringo

I have had him since day 1 as well and has served me well.  However for Finals he may be an upgrade target depending on the GS that may arise.

if you have the luxury of trades, it would make sense to upgrade to a premium averaging 120+.

if you don't you are better served making trades to cover the the Carlton bye.

Assuming you have Judd, Gibbs, and maybe even Scotland.

Used my last trade last week and went COTCHIN - S.THOMPSON last week cost me 30 points but i think if i make the granny he will have a better o/all score, would have gone to NDS but only had 18k in bank.

Already had Priddis & Mitchell?  Those are choices I would have looked @ last week.

Knowing how many trades would be handy.

had same midfield as OP but could not afford anyone except THOMO, was about 2k off PRIDDIS.

harsh.  I wonder how Van Berlo is going to finish the year.  He has been looking revitalized under the temp coach.

Last 3 scores of

107, 123, 109.

He's going well under Bickley.

He's not the only one, i think dangerpants looks better too!

I also had Cotchin from the start, but I wouldn't classify him as an elite premium, so I traded him out last week for Priddis, more consistent and averages 15ppg more.

If you've got the trades, upgrade!

Good point, fair run home so should score well. It is just the uncertainty for a young player at this stage of the season.
Thanks for the insight.

I have $20,000 and 4 trades remaining. Yeah, I looked at NDS but he is pretty expensive now. Mitchell is a possibility but with 4 hawks and GC last round worries me. Priddis was one I was looking at although Cotchin and him seem to get similar scores abeit Priddis about 10-15 more higher on average. Thanks for the insight.

That is one thing I worry about since he is still a young player. I didn't know he was only 21-22 so GS may occur to give him a bit of a rest. Thanks for the insight.

Yeah, got Judd and Gibbs. Can cover Judd fairly easy with Mzungu and I.Smith. Although cover for Gibbs is a little harder with only Talia and Jacobs my real cover for the backline. Good point you raise that I might need to trade out Gibbs than bring him back the next week which would only leave me two trades for the grand final if I make it. Thanks for the insight.

4 trades and about $20,000 in the bank.

Good point there, I may go Priddis since he seems the best bet around that price range. Another one is Swallow but Priddis always gets consistent scores. Thanks for the insight.

I might go (stiil not completely sure whether it is a good idea or not):

This week-
Strauss> Rookie Back
Cotchin> Priddis

Next week-
Gibbs> Backman with decent average and low BE

Grand Final week:
Backman with decent average and low BE> Gibbs

Ringo

Can you cover Gibbs with another upgrade as it seems a waste of trade to trade out and then back in.  maybe even a mid prem back who will get you 90+ that you can keep.
