Stand by what I said am not going to get drawn into another argument with a biased flowerwit. Like every team north has some decent young KPP's but no way are they close to a lot of the other teams in young talent in general. Mids/Rucks yes but I'd hardly say any of your young key defenders or fwd's will be very good.

Cool bro.
So this is how to respond when you lose an argument. Thanks!
Also the poll was biased. Not all teams were in it. Just saying.
Essendon were, and basically all the young teams were in it...

Do you think they would have won? Their youth is pretty good, but not the best.

I am sure they would have gotten votes, which for all we know could have come from the NM-voting contingent.

How did I lose an argument haha? He called me a flowerwit, (If you you think when someone is winning an argument, that they'd have to resort to swearing that means they won? Lol!).

Master Q

On a side note, probably trading Mullett into my DT this week. I trust him.

Exactly. The data was skewed.
You cant give a selection and then assume that the one that is deemed the best is deemed the best overall when the whole selection could have affected the original data.

They would have gotten more than 6 votes (which is how many Geelong got) but not sure how that alters how many votes NM would have gotten.
Obviously everyone wants to think they have the best 'young' talent. Depends how you define young but Collingwood should have won this, if not WC.
I think a lot of people probably overlooked Collingwood because they have already achieved so much with a young group, and that a 'young' team would be a team like West Coast or North that still has a lot of improvement to make.
Anyway WC did win the poll and North only got 3 more votes than us and judging by the amount of [pro North] posts made by North supporters in that thread in comparison to the amount made by Essendon supporters those numbers could have easily been made up by your own supporters. Not saying this is definite. And as BB point out the data is skewed by bias (could be towards any team) as logic clearly shows Collingwood and West Coast should have picked up most votes.

There was even 1 guy that said because Swallow and Goldy were perhaps going to be AA this year that they were and should be regarded as better 'young players' - Surely in this situation Hurley's potential to become the best forward in the game outweighs achievements made in a bottom 8 side. What they have done is largely irrelevant and should only be used to estimate the trajectory of a players career.

Just a quick point, it's harder to make an AA team in a bottom 8 side. So saying "achievements made in a bottom 8 side" is really not right if it's an achievement like an AA. It's easier to get into the team if your team is successful.

What I meant is obviously the success of a 'young' team should be how far the team as a whole gets (premierships, grannies) so what they do before that is largely irrelevant (to the team as a whole which is what we are judging.)

roo boys!

You can't argue that Goldy and Swallow haven't had amazing seasons though...

Oh no I don't doubt that. But past achievements vs. potential for young players...Surely potential (if they have already shown it at AFL level) wins out?

Of course, but both of them are still young with a lot more left to achieve in their careers.
