they won`t do anything to petterd simply because mc`ginnity did`nt report it.
we saw the same thing happen when malthouse called milne a rapist because milne didn`t want to go further with it nothing was done.

Junior footy sledges seem to stay on the field at least at the games my son plays.what i find more disturbing is at some of the games parents are the ones that are yelling out profanities to no only opposition players but sometimes even kids from their own team.
even more disturbing is the blatant bumping off the ball,pushing,slinging,head high contact that goes on in junior footy that the umps don`t pickup yet it is something that the AFL is big on at the moment.one of our players had his wrist fractured 2 weeks ago by a kid that just smashed into him after he had kicked the ball.no free kick given.

if they can`t control this kind of thing in junior footy where the kids are learning the game what hope do they ever have of getting rid of it at a senior and AFL level.

The McGinnity penalty was fitting considering. Especially since everyone knows a lot worse has been said and will be said in the future.

Pettard: "I'll come to Perth and kill you!"
McGinnity: "If you come to Perth ill rape your mum!"

Pettard complained because he couldn’t come up with a wittier/more disturbing comeback and Pettard clearly has no spine (A trait he shares with a lot of his team mates). Evidenced by his dad doing all the talking on Monday.

Not excusing what McGinnity said and it’s something I would never say myself, but I have to admit that it made me chuckle. Just because of the reaction, it obviously had the desired effect and unsettled Melbourne coming into half time.

[edit]And yes, Pettards threat is a crime.

I think you're over analysing the content of what was said a little too much. It looked to me from the footage that Pettard got into McGinnity first. Which was also how the Herald Sun and West Australian reported it.

Either way, two wongs dont make a right.

He only got done because a) Pettard doged the umpire/umpire overheard it and b) the AFL is all feel-good towards women. A joke Pettard didn't also cop a suspension, but at least the line is drawn now..?

the fact that only WC supporters r leaping to his defence ::) ask urself what u do the same if he didnt play for ur team?

have a look at the players around McGinnity when he is saying it, none of the WC boys want anything to do with it apart from Scott Selwood trying to get him to shut up and leave the area, look at the Melbourne players going after him... McGinnity would have been subjected to questions involving the incident so he is fabricating content to the public or the AFL, fact of the matter is the AFL investigated it and found Petterd had nothing to answer for, so why do u think that is being it is against the law???

i played footy for 20 years and i never heard any of that garbage in local leagues or the big smoke :-X

What leagues are you playing Marcz? Haha I've heard worse. But Bluke has it right. He threatened his life and got something back as a result... Then had a cry.

AFL's first female player right there in Petterd. Nothing but a whiny dog. :P

I heard worse in Junior footy, let alone amateurs. Not just WCE fans defending him either, if thatâ€™s even what weâ€™re doing. Iâ€™m more having a go at Pettard for being a little person.
