That sounds hot!

LF

but it`s ok the petterd said he was going to come to perth and kill him before mc`ginnity said what he said.

8-6 Suited

Threats to kill is a criminal offence, isn't it?

LF

not sure 8-6 probably is
but because mc`ginnity never complained about it nothing will be done.

Question is: Will this punishment finish sledging on the footy field? I say No.

of course it wont but those two statements cant be flying around out there...

in our local league we had a 14yo kid spit on, hit and threaten an umpire...

and then had it downgraded to 3 years, disgusting imo and local umpires even protested the decision by striking for junior games recently...

a stand needs to be made when it comes to behaviour at the football and on the football field, raise the bar ppl

Yeah, i remember that. Should be a life ban really. You can't threaten an umpire. One of my friends played against this kid (14yo) who was on drugs and was always abusing umpires.

This stuff has to be cut out of the big leagues so juniors don't do it.

After that had happened Marcz I rang into 5AA with a different solution to that young 14yr old's transgression. At 14 years of age, a five year ban effectively flowers his career, if indeed he had any show of a chance. Rather than simply ban him, keep him involved by making him take up umpiring and he will grow from that. He will form an appreciation of how hard it is to hold the whistle of authority.

It should not be forgotten what he did but it could be learnt from what transpired. Most deserve a second chance.

I have seen a guy staple his balls to the front bar at the Berrimah Tavern in Darwin as a dare just for his next pint  :o

But that's the thing about Footy hey valk, did you shake hands at the end of the game?

Should it stay on the field  :-\ or at what level do we cross the line? Personal insults you have to take but family members is another story agreed.

*Anyone remember Glenn McGrath firing up after Ramnaresh Sarwan took a shot at Jane McGrath and her cancer recovery during a heated exchange in 2003?  >:(

That is in all the circket sledging books i've been reading this off-season. Waiting so i can use some one-liners come season beginning. Nothing offensive, just off-putting.

Shane Warne to Paul Collingwood after the leg-spinner sent another six sailing into the stands during his swashbuckling 71, Warne turned to Paul Collingwood and sledged: "And to think you got an MBE for getting seven."  8)

The old 'your Mum wears army boots' just doesn't cut it anymore  :P
