Ok guys, have a dilemma. In my main league I finished on top and won comfortably in my first finals encounter, giving me the week off. I have 3 trades left and 175k in the bank. As a forecast towards round 23/24 what would you do, make 3 upgrades using the 175k or make a downgrade and 2 massive upgrades? Looking to improve forward line mostly, as the other lines seem set. (Unless I trade out Hurn)

Def: Gibbs, Goddard, Lids, Fisher, Gibson, Bock, Hurn (Lower, Hibberd, Jacobs)
Mids: Pendles, Priddis, Boyd, Ablett, Mitchell, Thompson (J Selwood, Mzungu, Wallis)
Ruck: Cox, Petrie (Bailey, Curnow)
Fwd: Pav, Fyfe, Goodes, Sylvia, Grundy (worst buy this season), Nroo, Rioli (Smith, Richo, Tippett)

What do you suggest? 3 minor upgrades or a downgrade and 2 massive upgrades?

Thanks in advance :)

VERY good side.

I'd hold for now, and depending on circumstances, downgrade Hibberd and upgrade as needed.

... assuming your missing forward is also good quality

I know i've got the week off and, circumstances permitting, could just make a few quick swaps for  the run home, however I'd like to start looking towards trade targets and need to have a rough idea of price range (eg Franklin for 500k+ or Cloke for 400kish.. )

Your mid field is ridiculous.

Most likely going to have to grab Franklin against WB to eliminate POD, their entire backline is gone.

has a BE of 54, would almost be inclined to do it now.

Not sure you want Lower covering for gibbs, theres a few diff things you can do here.

MC

Yeah I know, that's the dilemma! BE of 54 but if I trade him in this week (my week off) and he gets injured... Massive waste of a trade for me! Very tempting though, he has a good run home.

PS> Imagine if I had gotten NDS instead of Thompson about 10 weeks ago... Perhaps my biggest regret!

charliesheen

if that happen then that would affect like 90% of teams, lol

Ok, so say I wanted to get in Buddy, which of Nroo, Grundy or Sylvia up to him and leave roughly 75-100k? Or do I trade rookies? And that 75-100k, enough for two slight upgrades or do I go for one huge one?

now thats the million dollar question.  going to have to back your own judgement here....

Slightly from left field and doing a downgrade upgrade - What about Bailey to Mumford, McEvoy or Goldstein returning Petrie to forward line and upgrade defense with last trade.

I thought about that, but don't think his going to have the flexibility to do it.

3 trades left.

Trade 1:  I would say at least 1 needs to go to negate the POD in r23 when the Hawks face the Bulldogs with no backline.

Trade 2: Someone to cover for gibbs, or sideways trade

Trade 3: Luxury or LTI/suspension,  maybe your ruck suggestion.

MC

Some good ideas there, thanks guys!

Didn't even consider the ruck situation, but that opens up some more doors I guess :)

I would definately upgrade Bailey to the best available ruckman..
With the cash you have in bank and Bailey I would look at Mummy or McEvoy..
With your 2 remaining trades I would hold onto them for the General, it is going to hit hard within the next couple of weeks..
You are very strong all over the ground..
Top side  :)
