Ok guys i finished top of my league and averaging 50ppg over next best!

I have 4 trades and 5k in the bank'

Im wondering whether trading prestia-->callinan is a good trade...if you need to see my team click here: http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,38650.105.html

Pro's of doing prestia-->callinan:
I have 200k in the bank
I can UPGRADE yarran instead of a sideways
I can actually improve my team instead of just sidewaysing (if thats a word

Con's doing prestia>callinan:
I will only have 1 trade after trading yarran & giibs
Depending on injuries/rests/tribunal i mite not have my strongest team on the park due to lack of trades

Please help!

all about winning

have you got a easy win this week??
if so i recommend doing downgrades and free up cash when you have a bye next week..
(thats if callinan aint playing this week cause hes on the bubble)

Jay

Im vsing crawf so yeh it is a relatively easy game!

With that many trades left and that little cash in the bank I think it's a no brainer. Prestia with achiles out and Callinan on the bubble in.

cheers...im aware this is a quite solid trade BUT this would leave me with only 3 trades and still holding onto sandi along with 2 carlton players (gibbs & yarran)

Thoughts???

charliesheen

lol, your already trying to convince yourself not to do the trade.

Like I said, having cash in hand for future rounds should not be underestimated.  It might mean the difference between grabbing an inferior option later on when you need to sideways trade.

you have 4 trades right now, and a half decent team.

your probably ahead of most people already in your league.

Jay

I wouldnt say im convincing myself not to trade im just giving the pros and cons of the trade!

It all depends on sandi really if he isnt named this week then it wouldnt make a lot of sense to do the downgrade as i would have 0 trades after sideways-ing yarran, sandi and gibbs (this is assuming sandi is ruled out for season therefore a trade having to occur)! Or there is the possibility that he is named this week then i would do the downgrade! Also just adding that once freos finals dreams are dead they will surely just rest sandi???

And im thinking I would like at least 1 trade for the granny!!!

I would really love some clear thoughts on this...i dont know if i have fully thought it thru yet but hopefully someone can see where i am coming from!

Cheers lads!

If your banking on Sandilands playing the next 3 weeks, I would use the downgrade to free up some cash.

Personally, I would bring in McEvoy, and skip the Callinan downgrade, which should free about 30k.

McRooster

No. Callinan did not play for Centrals last weekend and has missed one session of training this week (personal reasons) so I'd imagine is an unlikely starter for Centrals this week and further unlikely to play again at the Crows this late into the season  :'(

Only value he has is in DPP  - sorry to burst his bubble

Well if i were to Put money on it ill say sandi wont play meaning they will lose to carlton and put sandi in cotton wool because their finals hopes are destroyed!!! So yeh i I think about it i dont think sandi will play another game this year but weve got to wait and see if he is named tmorrow!

If sandi is named would you still trade him to mcevoy??? Also mcevoy over mummy???

Ohh if only i had have gone birchall/suckling instead of greg 'spud' broughton last week! I would have 80k in the bank and there wouldnt be a need to downgrade! Or i couldve gone with stiffy then i wouldve had 120k in the bank!!! Not much I can do about it now!!!

thanks for that! But it wasnt really about the JS or even whether callinan will play, more about whther he downgrade as a concept is worth it in my situation :)

Cheers

charliesheen

actually.... you can probably afford to hold.  you can always free up cash during the geelong bye r22 rather than now, in anticipation of the r23 carlton bye.

prestia price shouldn't move that much and he does have BL, and mcevoy has a BE of about 90-100, though he did score like 140+ against the pies last time they met.  Can proabbly expect him to get about 120 I would think.

By crawfords comments it sounds like his gonna go

Sandilands > McEvoy/Warnock and Smith > Bailey

so you should easily match that.

Jay

Yeh i think i can afford to wait looking at those b/e's!

I think ive got crawf covered...at worst my rucks will be cox & bailey/lobbe (sandi on bench)

Cheers for advice mate

Jay

Sandi, prestia named...callinan not!

Wot to do???

charliesheen

I don't think it changes anything mate.  No Trade/Deal.

Have an emergency set in your ruck
