hey guys

its at the pointy end of the season and when i traded out Sandilands for Hale

why? well Hale has MPP with forwards and with Roughhead out he was sure to see more gametime

OUT Sandilands ($508,300)    IN Hale ($239,700)

I did think about whether i should take the risk for a while but it seems to be paying off... with

15    Collingwood MCG
Score: 95
$271,900    $32,200+

16    Brisbane    Aurora Stadium
Score: 96     $307,500    $35,600+

18    Melbourne    MCG
Score: 99
$337,500    $30,000+

19    Fremantle    Patersons Stadium
Score: 100
$360,400    $22,900+

So I still have MPP with Petrie and he is averaging about 100 so all in all im pretty happy with the unique trade i made.

With Gold coast in the Grand Final hopefully he can bang out a real big score who knows.

Obviously this time of the year i want bigger numbers but considering i mainly got him for MPP with Petrie and now i am starting him over the top of Smith it has worked out pretty good.

So what other uniques you guys got that you are proud of?

Absolutely nobody.

If there was a thread about uniques that have been utter failures then I could go on all day.

Jack Redden has been my best unique averaging 102 but that certainly isnt a premium average for a midfielder.

Shaw, Newman, Sandilands and J Roo.

Ringo

My original Ruck duo were Ottens/Sandi and when Sandi got Injured upgraded him to Cox,  Ottens has been reasonably OK as 2nd ruck and when he was injured/rested used Petrie as DPP.  Probably not very unique with Ottens but worked ok.  Same strategy for finals with him if I loose first Final.

I don't have him but Steffan Martin from Melbourne would have to be one of the best uniques. Started at the bargain basement price of $114,000 and is currently averaging 90+ and for a back this year that is pretty much a keeper. He is the 14th highest averaging back for the year and that is on top of a miserable 44 last week. He currently averages more than Grundy, Bock, Johncock, Gibson, Hurn and Scarlett. He posted these scores over a 10 week period - 125, 105, 85, 87, 100, 137, 106, 77, 126 and 96 - That is an average of 104...WOW!

Spewing I didn't get on to Martin at the start of the year. As a Dees supporter it seemed as though he would struggle to get a game but he really stepped up in the absence of Jamar.
