The FF U24 WC MVP is the medal awarded to the player adjudged most brilliant throughout the Cup.
The manager of the winning player will be given 3 months, a special graphic and their player will be inducted into the U24 Hall Of Fame.

The inaugural winner of the award will have it named after them.

Each round Baz and myself will go around re-watching each game on delayed telecast, and award 5-4-3-2-1 votes to the players we think stepped up to the plate when they needed to and ultimately played the biggest part in winning the match. For the first half of the tournament the votes awarded will be made public, but for the second half Baz and I will keep them to ourselves.

Round 1 Votes

Cicjose Vs. SE Melbourne Thunder Dogs
Overcast & Uneven - Cicjose Won By 10 Runs

5. David French - 74 from 83 deliveries, 2 catches. Top scored for the winning team and took 2 catches at critical periods in the game to prevent a win for Q.
4. Peter Whitting - 81 from 117 and at just 20 he could have gotten 5 votes had Q gotten up for the win.
3. Charles Campbell - Chipped in a quick 20 at the end of Cicjose's innings which proved to be vital, and bowled very well at the death removing Q's last hope in Peirce
2. Peter Mordt - Played his heart out making 36* to try and push Q over the line, as well as 2 catches and a stumping. His battle with Campbell at the death decided whether he got 3 votes or two.
1. Sunil Peirce - 66 from 95 the fact that he got out when the game was in the balance certainly detracts from his performance.

Fletch's No Balls Vs. PyroNerds XI
Sunny & Crumbling - Fletch's No Balls Won By 7 Wickets

5. Abhirama Kity - In a game where no player really stood out, figures of 3/17 and a late knock of 21 sees Kity easily the best.
4. Jerry Seinfeld - Top scored for the game with 50*/75, kept the runs ticking over at a good rate until the total was met.
3. Paul Jhappan - Backed up the great opening work from Wright removing Boyd & van der Wiel and any hope Pyro had left with it.
2. Phillip Wright - Removed Howard & Azad in a hurry and from there Pyro didn't really recover. He was also the most economical bowler on the field.
1. Shahid Abid - He was very economical at the death, picking up 3 wickets including Pyro's top scorer and opener in Dell.

Feeling Sheepish Vs. Chrisuzz
Sunny & Slow - Feeling Sheepish Won By 131 Runs

5. Abongile Sodumo - Took 6 wickets, 6 of Zz's top 7 to be exact. Didn't let the opposition get a sniff. Took a catch off his own bowling as well.
4. Shamim Otieno - Set up the innings with his partnership with Woody, went a tick faster though so I've put him at 4. 69/80.
3. Devon Woodcomb - His 65/89 in a 120 run partnership wish Shamma was the building block upon which FSCC built the win.
2. Seeley Booth - Chipped in with 49*/37 to cap off the innings, then took a catch and got a stumping. Only conceded a single bye as well.
1. Chitundu Pillani - The only player who really made a significant contribution for Zz. Top scored with 37/80 and took 2 wickets.

John Howard's Coathangers Vs. Bazinga
Sunny & Slow - Bazinga Won By 4 Runs

5. Ken Charles - Not much more he could do, 117*/121, don't like giving 5 votes to a man in a losing side but he was clearly the best.
4. Maurice Moss - Built the partnership that allowed Baz to make such a huge total. Without Moss, Baz loses by 50-150 runs.
3. Mathew Dedini - 81/87 in the match winning partnership for Baz, easily picks up the 3 here.
2. Nirmal Babb - 68/75 had he been there at the death he and Charles would have guided ML to victory and picked 4/5. But alas he fell in the 38th over and that really hurt ML.
1. Sebastian Vettel - Removed Gecko and Babb when it mattered, while still managing to be Baz's most economical bowler. Also chipped in a quick fire 19*/14.

Golden C Vs. The Matchbox Matadors
Cloudy & Slow - The Matchbox Matadors Won My 80 Runs

5. Atul Suriyaprakash - Despite being dismissed for a golden duck Suri gets 5 votes for his full on assault of the C's middle order. Taking 5/31 along with a maiden he is easily the BOG.
4. Percy Skinner - A somewhat unconvincing effort from the Matadors top order mean Skippper Skinner had to step it up and he did, top scoring with 83/94.
3. Wally Deane - Wally combined well with Skinner to salvage the Matadors innings and build a good total. He also took 2 catches and got a stumping.
2. Rafa Van Winden - A pretty good showing form the young quick in a team that was beaten pretty easily, removed Warwick & Brayshaw as well as 6* at 11.
1. Roland Knight - Dropped off considerably after Rafa, but nevertheless Knight managed 34 & a catch to sneak in for 1 vote.

Round 2 Votes

SE Melbourne Thunderdogs Vs. Feeling Sheepish
Cloudy & Hard - Feeling Sheepish won by 146 runs

5. Graeme Vint - I didn't want to play the young AR but the conditions called for it, stepped up after the top order feell for nothing and made 99* crucial runs & took 2/47
4. Beni Puja - The only mane who did anything for Q while he chased down a 300+ total was Puja, posted 104/119 while the next best was the extras with 14.
3. Drew Currie - When Booth, Shagmeister, Otieno & Woodcomb all got starts but didn't go on it looked like I was set for a modest total. Enter Drew Currie, 72/70 was crucial.
2. Khalid Umar - Another guy I didn't want to play, an accom/accom rf who needs a lot of work but he wormed his way into the side and uprooted Q's top order. 4/38 from 10.
1. Peter Jackson - took 3/32, he was economical when he needed to be and certainly did his job well in conditions that didn't suit him. Just edges out the 2 keepers.

Bazinga Vs. Cicjose
Suny & Uneven - Bazinga Won By 8  Wickets

5. Rob Thomas - Baz had little ttrouble chasing down Cic's total, largely thanks to this man who posted 96*/106 in a crucial innings.
4. Michael Shumacher - Thomas' partner in crime, contributed 66 of the 159 runs that were made during that partnership, on the way to 78/116.
3. Matthew Lansdown - He & French were the only ones who really put up a fight while Baz hammered through the order.
2. Sebastian Vettel - Took 4/56, I may have been a little harsh on him placing him down at 1 but 2 of his wickets were tail wickets and he was one of the most expensive on the ground.
1. David French - Made 54/58 and took a catch, he had the difficult task of batting with the tail, and he did a pretty good job.

The Matchbox Matadors Vs. Chrisuzz
Sunny & Green - The Matchbox Matadors Won By 14 runs

5. Douglas Rees - Had to hand it to him, he was the most economical bowler on the ground, took 4 wickets (3 of which were specialist bats)
4. Douglas Brayshaw - Winning side helped him a lot here, but in the end his 77/92 were the runs that got CF over the line.
3. Roy Malcolm - 82/76 but fell in the last over and didn't take a catch as keeper. That hurt him a lot. Nevertheless he was the shining light in an otherwise dim innings.
2. Gerard Warwick - Opened the batting and got the runs flowing with 51, combined with Brayshaw in a crucial partnership.
1. Wally Deane - Just 31 with the willow but it was another big partnership with Brayshaw, without it CF may have not posted a total he could defend. Also took 3 catches and a stumping

Fletch's No Balls Vs. Golden C
Sunny & Slow - Fletch's No Balls Won By 7 Wickets

5. Paul Jhappan - Took 4/40 and although he was somewhat expensive he practically removed Barlow's top order on his own, for that he gets a gold star!
4. Charles Drewer - Opened the batting and did it well posting 93/112 setting up a cruisey chase for Fletch.
3. Steve Ogonji Tokolo - His 51 backed up the brilliant work of Drewer and ensure that Fletch got over the line. Also took a couple of nice catches.
2. Wahid Omer - 45/78 & a catch he was the best player on the ground for Barlow, by quite a way.
1. Cosmos Kramer - 2 wickets and a runout, chuck a maiden into the mix and the mad man gets a vote.

PyroNerds XI Vs. John Howard's Coathangers
Cloudy & Flat - PyroNerds Won By 12 Runs [match will be overturned]

5. Minhaz Azad - 123/104 he was the key to posting a total big enough to defend.
4. Shaggy Gecko - 115/122 He was ML's best by a street, didn't take a grab but still an outstanding performance.
3. Albert Boyd - 74/73 in another big innings from Pyro's favourite.
2. Just van der Wiel - A quick fire 62/48 to finish the innings for Pyro, he also took a catch and conceded just 2 byes.
1. Cecil Xavier - 67/70, I really wanted to get a bowler in here but...None of them did anything.

Round 3 Votes

PyroNerds XI Vs. Cicjose
Sunny & Hard - PyroNerds XI Won By 190 Runs

5. Albert Boyd - 216* can't go past him.
4. Joseph Dell - 89/74, his opening stand allowed the middle order to bat aggressively, leading to a mammoth total.
3. Linden Robbins - Ripped through Cic's top order, made sure they didn't have any chance of getting close to the total set, 3/24.
2. Matthew Lansdown - He was the only one who provided any resistance for Cic.
1. Bert Howard - 59 and a catch.

John Howard's Coathangers Vs. Golden C
Sunny & Crumbling - John Howard's Coathangers Won By 9 Wickets

5. Ken Charles - 64* guided ML to victory, went very quickly considering conditions as well, didn't give Barlow a chance.
4. Vibert Edwards - His partnership with Charles ultimately won ML the match.
3. Shaggy Gecko - Didn't get his hands on the willow but took 4 catches, got 2 stumpings and only conceded 1 bye. Pretty good day with the gloves.
2. John Burgess - Took 3 wickets 2 of them specialist bats, and was ML's most economical bowler.
1. Scott Polzin - Also took 3, including Nairob.

Chrisuzz Vs. SE Melbourne Thunder Dogs
Sunny & Green - Chrisuzz Won By 6 Wickets

5. Murray Scott - 72*, game in when Zz was in trouble, got on his bike and played a big part in the match-winning partnership.
4. Ethan Burke - 75 from 100, he anchored down and consolidated.
3. Eustace Wilson - Looked very dangerous early and removed both Q's openers in no time.
2. Glen Cummins - He was expensive but he removed any hope Q had of posting a decent total.
1. Sunil Peirce - Only made 44 but top scored for Q and stopped it from being total embarrassment. No real outstanding 5th performance.

Feeling Sheepish Vs. Ballpit Chaos
Sunny & Flat - Ballpit Chaos Won By 2 Wickets

5. Shamim Otieno - Runout on 117, his innings helped FSCC to a big total. Without him it could have gotten ugly. Also took a catch.
4. Rob Thomas - 91 from 78 he handed Baz the win on a platter with a splendid innings. Catch and a runout as well.
3. Kurt Gidley - Opened the batting (and kept) and did very well, allowing Thomas to unleash and try and get Baz over the line. 81 and a catch.
2. Shaggy Junior - Took 4 wickets on a flat, very nearly got the game won for me.
1. Seeley Booth - Only conceded 1 bye, took 2 catches and pitched in 51*.

Fletch's No Balls Vs. The Matchbox Matadors
Sunny & Flat - Fletch's No Balls Won By 6 Wickets

5. Steve Ogonji Tikolo - Made 80 and set up an easy chase for Fletch
4. Dean Fitzgerald - He and Cosmos combined to destroy CF's top order, took 3fa and was also extremely economical.
3. John Rowley - Made 66 from 44 in a quick knock that kept the RRR pressure down.
2. Wally Deane - Made 45* and took two catches, he was by far the best afield for CF....again.
1. George Costanza - Made 25* to push the total over the line and took 3 catches while conceding just 2 byes.

Round 4 Votes

Fletch's No Balls Vs. John Howard's Coathangers
Sunny & Crumbling - Fletch's No Balls Won By 54 runs

5. Shahid Abid - ML's chase was going pretty well...Then Abid came on, took 4 wickets and ML didn't have that much of a chance. Also took a catch.
4. George Costanza - He top scored for the game with 49* and then kept very well, taking two catches without conceding a bye. His innings was arguably what won the match.
3. Paul Jhappan - Did well when the pressure was on. Monir and Polzin were certainly capable of making the runs ML needed to win, but Paul shut them down, along with the rest of the tail.
2. Abiola Jirongo - His quick fire 23* at the end of Fletch's innings coupled with removing one of the stars of the WC in Charles saw Jirongo become one of the best on field.
1. Shaggy Gecko - The only real standout for ML, along with Polzin (who I had 6th), 26/37 with 2 catches and a stumping.

The Matchbox Matadors Vs. SE Melbourne Thunder Dogs
Sunny & Green - The Matchbox Matadors Won By 94 Runs

5. Geoff Brayshaw - People won't be happy Suri didn't get 5 here, but I think 131/114 in a match where nobody else from his team made it beyond 50 is the clear winner.
4. Atul Suriyaprakash - His efforts are very impressive especially if you consider he was  a spinner on a green, 3 tail wickets and poor economy saw him miss out on MOTM. 28* & 6/54.
3. Beni Puja - He was Q's shining light, his 87/94 being more than twice as much any of his other bats could manage.
2. Wally Deane - Was runout on 49 (terrible luck) and also took 3 catches. Another impressive performance from CF's keeper.
1. Peter Whitting - His 44 was the 4th best for the match, epitomising the gap between the best and second best. For both clubs. Also got the runout that ended the innings of Geoff.

Golden C Vs. Cicjose
Windy & Green - Cicjose won after result was adjusted for breach of competition rules

5. Charlie Franklyn - An unbelievable 131 in a 200 run chase, add a catch to that and Franklyn is without doubt the best man that took to the field in this game.
4. Rafa Van Winden - Uprooted Cic's top order and with it any hopes he had of posting a big total, Poivedin and French tried to fight back but the damage was done.
3. Nat Fyfe - Was by far the most economical bowler on the ground, even more impressive when you consider he bowled at the death. Took 3fa and a catch.
2. David French - His 50 was a brave effort to push Cic over the line, and then took a catch and didn't concede a single bye. Cic's best by some margin.
1. Wahid Omer - Kept well for Barlow, took 3 catches and then turned around and made 42*.

Ballpit Chaos Vs. Chrisuzz
Sunny & Hard - Ballpit Chaos Won By 64 Runs

5. Sebastian Vettel - This might be the best performance of the Cup so far. Frankly, I'm stunned. Smashed 53*/32 with the willow and then turned around and took 4fa. Outstanding.
4. Rob Thomas - He has done it again. Thomas has been Baz's rock throughout the WC, and this time his 88*/53 was a key to getting Baz to a total he could defend.
3. Ethan Burke - Easily could have gotten 4, but I am only giving him 3, partly because he was a lot slower than Thomas, played in the losing side and fell at a key point in the chase.
2. Shane Roberts - Took 3fa, he and Vettel were largely responsible for Zz not making the required total. Key wickets on a batsmans pitch.
1. Maurice Moss - Another quick innings from a Ballpit Batsman, smashed 75/53.

Feeling Sheepish Vs. PyroNerds XI
Sunny & Green - Feeling Sheepish Won By 9 Wickets

5. Krishnamurthy Rudraraju - Pyro was looking good for 230+, he was 6 down but had 2 set bats and the crease and was cruising. Then Rudey came in, took 4 and finished with 5.
4. Devon Woodcomb - He anchored the chase, making 87*/126. His opening partnership with O'Meagher was exceptional, he led that partnership along with the chase.
3. Gregory O'Meagher - 71/89 in a 145 run opening partnership, even more impressive given he was my youth for the game.
2. Joseph Dell - Top scored for Pyro with 48. Not much else to say.
1. Shamim Otieno - After the top 3, performances dropped off considerably, so much so that 27* and a catch gets him 5th best.

cookie311993

no offence to cic but was a surprise to see him get the win. He is gonna get heaps better though in his normal side not the u/24 comp. Since he is now starting to invest more into recruiting better players

8-6 Suited

I wasn't surprised since Q is terrible. LOL

CrowsFan

It actually didn't take as long as I expected it to :)
It was tough choosing for Fletch V Pyro due to a lack of standout performances though :|

Cicjose

Im surprised at the fact french is topping that leaderboard because i didnt even consider putting him in for Best Keeper on FF because skills wise he isn't as good as most FF keepers

Useless! ::) :P

Cicjose

I must make sure that French does the work in the field and with the bat to sure up VICTORY!

cookie311993

french isnt even that good though cic. majority of us on FF bought a young keeper at EOS who would most likely be better then him already

Master Q

I had a disadvantage seeing as I had to play 2 youths. Would of been the difference seeing as my Youth Batsmen went out for a duck  :'( But Cic played well.

None of your players got a duck Q, your youth player got 8.
Also you didn't have to play 2 youths, you have 12 players under the age of 24 in your team, and seeing you only need to pick 9 of them it was your own choice to pick 2 youths. Stop making excuses for your loss

Sorry, *8. I was making excuses, just saying it could of been the difference. Doolan is the 7th best batsmen in my team, the best being 27 - Which means he gets slot into the team. In other words, my batting stocks are low - although I have a backup batsmen, but he's 33  :P

The 3 players other players are all players who turned 20. 2 backup bowlers, 1 backup keeper.

::)
