Eliminator...what a joke!

Down to the top 128 in Eliminator and was super excited (I won by 1 point this week....thankyou Andy Swallow), only to go onto the DT site and find the prize for 1st is only $2000!!! WTF! I thought they gave away a car the last couple of times...am I wrong here?!?

Was going to trade up to try to stay alive, but really can't be arsed now, my league is paying more than that! Gonna save my trades and go for the kill in the league...who wants my spot in Eliminator!! :P

Pretty sure it was 1 or 2 grand last year, I remember thinking it was small for the achievement made.

I take my DT seriously, but playing for a league prize of over $2000 i think i would have a heart attack each week when my so called prems fail to deliver.

If you win eliminator at least your entry fee will be covered for the next couple of years

Seriously - eliminator is pure luck. I don't think it should be a high prize... a team that averages 2300 can have one bad week and they get screwed. The eliminator prize is the luckiest barbie in the whole comp. That fact that they got through all those rounds and claim it is enough of a prize in its self.

its the same as football tho wes...the most consistent team doesn't necessarily win the grand final...its about who comes to play on the day...and that is worth more than 2k ;)

Someone seems a bit bitter about being knocked out. You may aswell say Dream Team is all luck and they shouldn't give away a car for winning. Because really to win Dream team you need a fair bit of luck. You can get top say 500 through knowing your stuff but after that its luck.

So don't go cracking the sads because your no longer in the eliminator.

I wouldnt say its luck, You need to score high consistantantly and have team improvement through the season.

Sure the first couple of weeks are a breeze if you are scoring well, but it gets tighter as it goes along, got to the top 256 last year (much earlier exit this year) each week was a tight contest and added a bit of excitement especially in the weeks where league games were not a challenge.

also an opportunity for a side bet to see who can go the furthest

not sure if the byes were a positive or negative impact this year for most, i am sure some of the best teams would have been beaten by lesser opponants during those weeks.

Thats pretty awesome. I lost in the third round or so round after posting something around 2200 because a player gave away a free in the last 10 seconds or so :/
