It's not pretty - Help to make league finals

Hi Trendsetters,

I'm sitting 10th in a money league and need to increase my chances of trying to make the finals. Need some advice.

I've got 86.9K with 6 trades left.
Team:
Backs: gibbs, fisher, lids, adcock, enright, batchelor, retzlaff (suckling, cheney, puopolo)
Mids: pendles, foley, judd, bartel, fyfe, d.swan (jacobs, callinan, beams)
Ruck: cox, mummy,  (gorringe, j.tip)
FWD: pav, petrie dish, stevie J, sylvia, ROK, darling, mzungu  (Franklin, walker, prestia)

At this stage my wishlist to get in is out of Grundy/Bob Murphy (F/D link), Heater Shaw, Priddis and Nicky DS (maybe even Goddard??)
And out will be out of Darling, T.Walker, Prestia, Batchelor (and even possibly Adcock)

Which players/moves will increase my chances of winning and set me up for a finals tilt??

Any advice out there on the best possible moves would be grand.

I think you need to get rid of some dead wood.

How far off is Beams?  Haven't seen him play in ages.

Not even sure Walker is going to be getting many games.

I would look at addressing these two areas.

gives you a bit of fwd/def flexibilty

Thanks Charlie - BTW  it's Claye Beams of Brissy and by the reports is gone for the season with a foot problem. (Not Dayne Beams of collingwood if that's what you were thinking)

See your point with Beams and Walker but I want to look at getting players on the ground that will score well (eg. Bachelor avg. 60ish trade for Shaw that will avg. 100 odd - is this a good move??). Beams and Walker may just have to sit there so I can get the right cattle on the park.

Talia seems to not have played lately.  I've got retzlaff in def so I can put grundy in the fwd line for walker (??)

I guess in my mind at the moment is two scenarios (haven't done the maths)

1.Strengthen backline
Walker or Darling --> cheapie
    bachelor --> H. Shaw (or Goddard)
or
2. Strengthen Mids.
Walker --> cheapie
    Prestia --> NDS or Priddis
or.
3. Strengthen backline
Puopolo --> A.Hooper
     Walker --> Grundy (then swap with Retzlaff)

Thoughts???

go with talia and grundy, was a good suggestion the above.  you could even use batchelor instead of puopolo, if you think batchelor is close to maxing out.

i think puopolo scoring potential is better

Thanks for the help guys. Will probably get Grundy/Talia in (esp. now Shaw is rubbed out for 8 wks!!!!!)
