Advice Re Trades for Finals

Currently have 4 trades but only $12k cash

Best possible team as follows:
Delidio, Fisher, Gibbs, Adcock, Scarlett, Goddard, Lower (Stanley, Hibberd, Otten)
Ablett, Pendles, Priddis, Swan, Cotchin, J Bolton (Mzungu, Helbig, Jacobs)
Cox, Ottens (McAuley J Tippett)
Pavlich, Fyfe, Goodes, Sylvia, N Roo, Franklin, Petrie (Papscott, Dixon, Krak)

Tippet DPP link will be used to cover Ottens bye if first final not won.

As there appears to be not a lot of players on the horizon need to work out a plan now.

Options being looked at
Hibberd > Talia
Otten/Stanley > Shaw (gives coverage for Gibbs and Scarlett Lower may evenstart over scarlett)

Tapscott > Callinan when named

Not sure then on final trade Bolton/Cotchin to ROK or Krak to ROK

Sitting Joint first in League and 3 games clear of 5th place so no urgency to trade but just putting out there for comment.
BTW This has been my team since Round 12 due to LTI's. Wish I had an additional trade at this stage though.

As I said any comments welcome on final strategy especially the trades to get cash between now and finals.

You have potentially four players to cover in finals: Gibbs, Petrie, Scarlett and Ottens.
You can possibly afford one downgrade now to cash up and hope you win that first final so you don't have to worry about Scarlett and Ottens. In which case, Hibberd or Otten to Talia looks like a sound option. I know it would be tempting to bring in Shaw now but you may need something up your sleeve for an unexpected LTI before finals...

   my advice would be if u do trade,keep anyone with mpp.  it will be very handy in the finals

he is, hes not a spring chicken anymore and its taking him longer to recover,(think its a knee) i could be wrong. should SHOULD be back next week,,, fingers crossed

Thank You and this is a total stragey for my remaining 4 trades including finals but to get cash should I do the downgrades as they are on the bubble eg Talia possibly next week. Did not intebd doing the upgrades straight away just thoughts on the strategy and downgrades.

I would be inclined to do a hit and run on Otten now, unless you think he can peak at 400k (I am not too sure), then maybe you can wait for someone like Coad.  His at a similar point with heppel where he peaked about 370k.

ringo, with making cash at this stage of the year. u dont really need cash cows,cause u wont get around to trading them off.  so for cash week 1 of finals just downgrade to a rookie,it really doesnt matter if they dont play.
  and also if u do get any rookie, see if there is one with mpp.( a non playing mpp rookie could be just has useful has someone who does get a few games)  you obviously will need the link in the other line for it to work.   
callinan is the one i would be looking at

Charlie Would you do the double trade to get Shaw for Otten or just a single trade and try and find a defender up to $371,900 (Sam Gilbert, Murphy etc) Like the thought on Otten as he has a B/e of 104 this week.
Have a def /mid link with Jacobs if I downgrade Hibberd

You've got an awesome D7, and D8 in stanley and lower.  And if desperate B. jacobs comes into the equation through hibberd

I would go

Otten > Talia (take the cash) UNLESS you think you think Otten will be a late bolter.  At 360-370k, I would do a hit and run, just like I did with Heppel.  Sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesn't.

Then do nothing until injuries/donuts happen.  Could even grab GAJ next week if need be.

Thank you - You have just turned on another light bulb.  All being equal you really only need one playing position on bench for finals unless you have to cover for 2 in finals bye on the same line and I do not.  However in saying that I also think I wioll take Charlies advice and downgrade Otten and pocket cash for finals. Thanks to you both.
BTW Jude Boltons injury is to his knee and he was listed as Test but obviusly did not come up so fingers crossed for next week.

anyway i think pocketting the cash will give you confidence going forwards with 3 trades.

I can really see you trading out Ottens (who is injury prone like hell) and maybe someone like bolton out towards finals.
