Who To Upgrade?

first off, heres my team:

BACK: goddard, gibbs, deledio, birchall, fisher, rawlings, pederson - duigan, puopolo, golby

MID: swan, pendles, boyd, priddis, montagna, boak - pavlich, fyfe, helbig

RUCK: McEvoy, Z. Smith - Sandi, Bailey

FWDS: Franklin, Johnson, Goodes, Chapman, Darling, Krakouer, Lynch - Mzungu, Dixon, Callinan


Normally, Id have pav and fyfe in the forward line but had to shuffle around cos of the bye.

Im going for the league win, sitting first, however, im scared that come grand final, my opponent will have G. Ablett captain and he'll smash it. So i want to get him or get Cox in the ruck because my rucks are abit weak without sandi the next 3-4 weeks.

What are your opinions?
I only have 6 trades left with $42.900, and i only want to use 1 to get ablett somehow or cox in the ruck

unless you trade out premiums your going to have to use 4 trades to get both cox and gaj. Not sure what rookies are good to get, but if you really want ablett then switch krakouer with pav/fyfe and downgrade him to a rookie, then use the money to upgrade boak to ablett. also, if you really want cox just trade sandi for him, but only if you REALLY want him. seeing as you're 1st in your league, i wouldnt worry about not having both sandi and cox just yet.

You have good coverage in forwards and mids but I think you need an extra prem in def as you have exposure both Rawlings and Pedersen in First Final and Gibbs in prelim final so with 6 trades i would be more concerned about covering that to ensure I make final. You also have Johnson and Chapman in forward line so you need potentially 5 trades to cover.
Seeing your top of league I would sit till round 20 and start trading then as you will know whether Sandi has come back strong or not.

yeah thats true. but if i do finish first, and win my first game of finals, i wont have to worry about the week that carlton have the bye because ill have a bye as well. but i need to make sure i win that first by covering north melbourne players.

i dont want both gaj and cox, i want one or the other, which one do you guys think is more necessary? my main concern is that the other guy that is likely to make the gf, has him, and has him captain every week. that could be what gives him the edge over me if ablett keeps ripping these massive scores

As you are top of League will you still finish top 4 if you only win one of the next 3. IMO Ablett is more essential than Cox even though most Final teams will probably have Cox as rucks. To get Ablett you have to do a double trade whereas if you go to Cox you only need Sandi to Cox. If you go for Ablett I would go Smith to Lobbe then Boak to Ablett. Will need to do this week as Lobbe is on the bubble and will rise next week due to his average currently 98.
Then sit till round 20 and then plan your assault.
