stuck to my plan and brought him in after rd 9 bye at around 404k
knew the great man was just getting his fitness up early. gold coast want to win as much respect as possible in 1st year which i think will make him hard to rest, not like when they wrapped him in cotton wool at geelong any time he had a slight niggle.

Same here! He definitely owe's us (and me especially for not jumping the gun and trading him to Ablett! Wish I'd had more of a need to trade him (such as not being booted out of the eliminator the week before :P).

Anyway, I'm not feeling quite as bitter now, as I'm thinking that trading Swallow to Ablett just before the finals (or a bit earlier if an oppurtunity presents itself) is a move that I will need to make anyway, and it should help even out the disadvantage of not having such as a dominant captain choice.
