Just wondering who you guys think may be leading our B&F right now.

I'm thinking Birchall, Gibson and Mitchell top 3 in no particular order.

Any others I'm missing?

Justin Bieber

I'd think that's pretty much spot on. Suckling surely a top 5 with the season he's having. I'd like to see Birchall win it as he's my favourite at the Hawks (has been for seasons now :P).

I would say Roughy would be a Roughie for the B&F if it wasn't for his injury :-\.

MajorLazer

Yer Suckling has been great for us and right now Smith, Savage and Breust are looking good.

If Roughy didn't get injured and continued to play as a 2nd ruckman he would've got top 3 IMO.

roo boys!

Hard to go past Mitchell every week, but the others have had great years too.

MajorLazer

That's the thing though. I think Mitchell may be "overlooked" because he has previously been captain and is a leader at the club. Birchall has been up and coming for a couple of years now and they may reward his improvement by giving him the award.

Also, as much as I love Mitchell, he often seems to try something fancy and lose the ball. That is the only problem with him atm.

Justin Bieber

I saw that on the weekend with Mitchell on several occasions :P.

I would love to see Gibson win it as he's been a real key to your defence, especially with Gilham out. He's just a shut-down machine 8). Birchall has been a very effective rebounding defender but agree, he's been one who has improved alot. Probably his loose role and Suckling's emergence have certainly helped him alot.

Holy Kremer ML your DP!
I reckon Mitchell on current form, leading the league for disposals, having a great season w/o the captaincy.
On of my favourites so I may be biased :P

MajorLazer

I love Kramer. :)

Mitchell is having a great season, but I think his efficiency may be a bit low for a top line midfielder. Not completely sure but he seems to turn it over just that time more than the gun mids.

AFEV

"Jerry, they are not midgets, they are little people!"

Couldn't resist, Mitchell being a midget little person and all ;D
I agree his ball use is probably just below par, but he is still awesome and in space his disposal is as good as anyones.

Justin Bieber

I'm smaller than Mitchell (You guys have seen) so you're calling me a little person :P.

He's a great at getting his own ball so can be forgiven for his lack of efficency :P. Like we would hold it against Watson since he's the exact same, except more AWESOME.

Mitchell by a length at the moment.

Roughy would have been up there too.

By years end based on the form so far would expect:

Mitchell to win

Runners up:
Shiels
Sewell
Birchall
Gibson

MajorLazer

Good to see we have the same opinions Hawk.

Kinda forgot about Shiels, but he is very similar to Mitchell which is a great thing. :)

Justin Bieber

No Suckling in there? Is a tad too many defenders but his breakout season has put him in AA selection for me.

hawk_88

Suckling has been good, but I wouldn't say great.

He is a great kick, but his decision making and use of the ball by hand is still poor at times. Birchall should be in consideration for AA but not Suckling.

Shiels has had an amazing season - best of the new 'S's. Was leading the disposals for the first 6 or 7 rounds and tackles very well. Savage has had a very good month though.

Hawka

Mitchell will win i think (also top 3 in brownlow )
i reckon roughy would of been in the top 3 the game he got injured
then the next few ppl in no order

franklin
birchall
gibson
suckling
shiels

most improved is a three horse race shiels, savage and suckling and if i picked our best first yr player rite now it would b puopolo but at the enod of the yr i think it will be smith
