Top Team Comparison

Was looking at the top team and noticed that we have almost the same team! Yet I'm ranked 265 and he's ranked 1. I guess poor captain and bench decisions have let me down.

Here's his team with the players we both have in RED and I put the different players I have in BLUE:

Backs:Gibbs, Scotland, Deledio, Enright, Shaw, Heppel, Goddard (Stanley, Puopolo, Toy) 

Midfield:Murphy, Pendlebury, Swan, Boyd, Ablett, Mitchell (Jacobs, Mzungu, Prestia)

Rucks:Cox, Smith  (Vardy, Tippett)

Forwards:Fyfe, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Petrie, Chapman Goodes, Franklin (Riewoldt, Smith, Richardson)


Differences
I have Adcock instead of Stanley

I have Thompson and Hibberd instead of Mitchell and Prestia

I have Curnow from Port instead of Tippett

I have Stevie J, Sylvia, Knights, Higgins, Lynch and Harper instead of Fyfe, O'keefe, Pavlich, Petrie, Chapman and Richardson.

Ok quite different forward lines but of starting players there are only 6 differences. Don't know how I'm doing so much worse though, hopefully he has less than 5 trades too.

Do you really think it's the (C) and bench choices? I think it's the forwards!

Fyfe 99 vs Stevie 104
O' Keefe 96 vs Sylvia 92
Pavlich 96 v Knights 84
Petrie 93 v Higgins 75
Chapman 99 v Riewoldt 80

Yeh the difference is 48 points so I guess that adds up. Was planning to get Petrie this week but that won't really help me catch him, just help to not slip further back.

You need to check the top 20 teams for the forwards they mostly don't have. That is your best chance to improve against them, when one of theirs goes down, and one of yours goes on a little run.

Stay away from Chappy and Fyfe - you need them to get the hammy and shoulder. Sorry, not sure who you should buy - though Cloke might be a temptation and Harvey would be a solid choice. The smokey is LeCras.

You might need Smith to hold even, but there's already 3 good choices to distinguish your team and maybe get a chance.

Good advice. I think the unique forwards that are worthwhile are Travis Cloke & Le Cras.
