You guys seem to think Hmac is worth more than he is. A first round pick would be a BIG win for you guys, especially given how thin the draft is, which also makes the 2nd round pick a lot less valuable than it would be next year.

with GWS stealing all the picks and from reports this being a poor draft i have no interest in a pick. Even if we played HMAC as purely a forward i think it would be a better choice than trading him for a first round pick. With his injury i think it probably extends his career a few years probably like brown.

Having H Mac playing a quarter of the game in the ruck and 3 1/2 quarters up forward is perfect. Stretches the defense, and means that we're almost always winning the tap outs, which gives your mids first chance on the ball. I'm sure as of now when Todd goes off or into the forwardline our center clearance rate drops way off.

From memory he lost BP several games including a final last year or the year before.

And in no way would this combo be better than Nic Nat/Cox...Or for that matter Belly/Ryder (when Hird gets his head out of his ass ::))

i happen to diesagree, i would say goldy is even if not a better tap ruck than goldy ( he is on track for the 2nd highest ever hitouts). NicNat will be a agreat player in the future but if Hmac is anywhere near where he used to be he is a better ruck.

not going to even mention essendons rucks

thats what people always say about cox and i agree but the better ruck is goldy. Cox beter player, goldy beter ruck. We havent seen Hmac play yet so we cant tell yet.

I think it will be very similar to NicNat/Cox, just without the dreadlocks and freaky sort of things that NicNat does (Daw can come in for them ;))

If you are going to decide your ruck combo is the best based on taps and nothing else, frankly you have no clue. I have no idea about how he is going in this but how are his taps to advantage? Cox/Sandi are clearly MILES ahead in this area. Cox is simply without any peers, I'd say he is the best ruckman of the last 20 years and top 5 in the last 30. So to say Goldy is better is stupid.
Hmac is nowhere near as good as he was a few years ago.

Hmac is nowhere near as good as he was a few years ago.

im not only saying he is better becasue of taps but say if you look at categories like clearances as a team the roos are tied 3rd with collingwood. I would say this is largely down to goldy winning the taps and giving them to the roos advantage (this is average not total). In fact the eagles average easily the most hitouts of any team yet their clearances place them at tied for 7th.

Not trying to attack Cox as he is a legend but if you look at personal categries than goldy does match up. On clearances they are essentially even goldy a tiny bit ahead. Cox has kicked 4 more goals and taken double the marks. However goldy i would say impilies alot more pressure with 80 tackles to cox's 34. They average around the same in handballs but cox does have more kicks.

So based on that i wouldnt say cox and sani are clearly ahead in taps to advatnage. becasue for some reason the roos (basically goldy) get less hitouts but more clearances. So unless the roos mids is much better than the eagles goldy most be doign something.
