I've said this before and I'll say it again, I'd hate to see HMac leave. :(

Was one of the top 5 ruckman in the competition, I seriously hope North can find a way to play both HMac and Goldy on the field at the same time. It'd make for a dynamite combination.

IF we were to trade him, here is a list of players (tear it to shreads, I dont care) I reckon we should aim for:

Daniel Pearce (fast, agile midfielder who would make a great wingman)

Daniel Connors (fantastic kicking skills, just what North needs down back plus he's struggling at Richmond)

Bernie Vince (he wants out...why not? Still a very good midfielder)

Sam Gilbert (young, quality rebounding defender, again what North needs...very hard to see him leaving but still...)

Brett Deledio (need I say more...North would want an elite player for HMac, that's Deledio...)

Shaun McKernan (forward player who can pinch-hit in the ruck too...perfect replacement for Petrie down the track...)

Josh Toy (was touted as one of the best 17yo old's in the country last year plus he's a great backline player)

Jaeger O'Meara (Who?? He's touted as the best 17yo AFL player in the competition....GWS need a ruckman...)

Holz

Pearce: good player but not sure if we need another mid
connors: i do rate this guy but he does seem to have a few ofiled issues and im not sure if he is of the calibre of hmac.
vince: again i dont think another mid is what we need will eaither be a backup or more likely push out one of our young guns.
gilbert: i really do like this guy as a player who could improve us, stkilda dont need a ruck so would need a 3 way trade.
lids: obviously this is the dream would be happy to give up more than HMAC for this guy.
Dont know too much about the next 2 adelide and GC probably dont need a ruck.
Omeara: Dont think GWS will give him up, again he is a mid though.

Daniel Pearce (fast, agile midfielder who would make a great wingman)
Very possible, how much do North need anther mid though?

Daniel Connors (fantastic kicking skills, just what North needs down back plus he's struggling at Richmond)
Again possible, and IMO the best fit of the bunch. Fills a need, is quality, and he's young

Bernie Vince (he wants out...why not? Still a very good midfielder)
You could get him, I think he wants to go to Collingwood and I'm not sure you want him. Same deal as Pearce, although he is slower. Only ever had 1 season where he showed anything more than glimpses

Sam Gilbert (young, quality rebounding defender, again what North needs...very hard to see him leaving but still...)
As you have said, won't leave

Brett Deledio (need I say more...North would want an elite player for HMac, that's Deledio...)
Boy it would take a hell of a lot more than Hmac.

Shaun McKernan (forward player who can pinch-hit in the ruck too...perfect replacement for Petrie down the track...)
Nice target, but I think Adelaide would rather hang themselves than lose another tall.

Josh Toy (was touted as one of the best 17yo old's in the country last year plus he's a great backline player)
He'll stay at GC. Won't be one of the guys they cut, showed some stuff. Not to mention GC already have Smith who is only 21 (I think) and will do very well, and Fraser, although he is little use. Tip-rat 2.0 and Dixon in there as well. Not to mention Gorringe who will be a STAR

Jaeger O'Meara (Who?? He's touted as the best 17yo AFL player in the competition....GWS need a ruckman...)
LMFAO

Sorry if I have been a little harsh :\

roo boys!

I would be fairly happy to offer HMac and maybe a third or fourth round pick for Deledio. If not, Connors is my favourite out of that bunch.

No mention of Suckling/any Hawks players? I think that Hawks probably need a better ruckman...Renouf and Roughead are only so so :-\

Usman

I think you are slightly overrating hmac expecting to get players like deledio and suckling he is injury prone and has had poor seasons. If Richmond have to give up to much they will be better off just developing a young ruck from the draft as there is no rush to snag an elite ruck now as we won't go anywhere near the flag with such a young team anyway. Then hmac will probably retire before we are at our peak of our powers as a club

I did say to tear it apart.

IMO, North just needs one more midfielder. A bloke with exceptional footskills and great speed. That's why I've put Daniel Pearce there, he'd be such a great fit for North Melbourne. Vince, not so, but he is wanting out and would be a great player.

Plus, I wasn't kidding with O'Meara....with GWS picking up most of the 17yo talent in this upcoming 'mini' draft, North should seriously look at brokering a deal with GWS to secure an absolute gun for the future.

North have recruited so well in the past few years, maybe we should continue along those lines and pick up a young gun 17yo from GWS? It'd set us up well if wish to aim for a flag within the next 4-5 years...

They do have Bailey, Lowden and Hale don't forget. Hawthorn are fine, just unfortunate they all get injured so often.

Though if I did have to pick a Hawthorn player, I'd look at Xavier Ellis. Could be the X-factor we need. He's a great marker of the ball, a definite hard nut...could be a good fit down back. Plus, he's struggling to get a game...what about him RB?

thought i might use by 3000 post on the best board.

As time goes on i think in the end we will kepp Mcintosh, Westcoast seem to have a farly good system with Cox and Nic Nat. Im sure Hmac is versatile enough to be somewhat changed into a forward. Unlikely to pick up any key forwards and with petrie being quite old Hmac becoming a forward could be a good move for the futre. A Petrie Hmac combo could be quite deadly with edwards helping and guys like thomas and cambell running around.

I too hope this is what happens. :)

PS. Congrats on reaching 3000!

No way to Xavier Ellis, I've never seen a midfielder who is more scared to kick the ball! (Maybe Clinton Jones [Fag]) Ellis will put a team mate into hospital before he decides to put it on the boot.

Find it funny that Xavier is the X-factor ;)

But nah, I don't think we really need Ellis. Down back we have a lot of those kinda tough nut players, we just need someone with a bit of class to get good delivery (hence why Wells has been used as the loose man before, but he needs to be in the midfield), that is  why I really want Suckling or Deledio (yeah, I like to aim high :P)

Pedersen to play permanent backman?

I'm currently watching TAC Cup Future Stars and Terry Wallace has been talking about the proposed mid-season draft and trade period.

He even included a 'phantom' trade period, one inlcuded Hamish McIntosh.

He suggested Hamish McIntosh and North's 2nd round pick for 2012 goes to Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide then send Alipate Carlisle to Richmond. Richmond then send their 1st round pick for 2012 to North Melbourne.

What's your thought's about this three-way trade? Personally, I think HMac is worth more than a 1st round pick, especially if we're giving away a second round pick as well.

roo boys!

I don't agree that! I want a more senior player for HMac, I mean you can have all the young talent in the world but you need a number of experienced heads around, to help them out. Someone with already AFL experience.

HMac and a second round pick is worth a lot more than a 1st round pick, especially with the compensated draft.

North Melbournes Finest

I want an established 24-26 year old Key forward/Half back flanker. A first round pick from Richmond in this draft is like 12-15th pick, no way do I want that for Hamish.

Master Q

TBH I don't see Deledio moving to NM. I think he's commited to Richmond and if he does move it'll be to a Top 8 side. He's been playing in a struggling team all his career, I don't think he'll want to move to another one.

roo boys!

We're not really struggling Q, on the way up and will more than likely be top 8 next year... But I agree he probably won't leave Richmond.
