hey zip just wondering if i should hold on to jack riewodlt,

i was thinking double this week.

jroo to sylvia

heppel to suckling

but maybe i should hold on jroo, but that means i lose out on about 10k sylvia price rise plus his potential tonne this week.

what are your thoughts?

oh and if harper doesnt get picked, do i downgrade pitt to avoid donut because of buddy and nroo out?

Hi Zip,

I want to upgrade Knights this week, but I don't want Sylvia or another player from Fre, Melb or Ade.

This is because Pav, Mzungu, Howe will already be missing in the multi-bye round and I don't want to have to rely on Prestia playing to avoid a doughnut.

I also don't want a Syd, Rich or Bris player for similar reasons.

I am going for overall- not necessarily to win the car, but I have a bet with a mate and it's to do with overall score not winning our league.

The cheaper options are Cloke, Rioli, Brennan and Higgins. This means I won't have to make an extra trade (8 left).

The more expensive options are Stevie J, Harvey, LeCras. In the scheme of things getting one of these three means I will have to make another downgrade at some point (maybe not now, but definitely when i make my last defender upgrade).

Who would you choose and why?

Overall, I would toss up between Cloke + Brennan- neither have byes left and subsequently should maximise the amount of points you can get by not having to field a rookie. Rioli  and Higgins are both injury prone (I have them both anyway), and you probably already have frankline, which would mean 2 hawks out in your fwds come rd 17.

Stevie J I wouldnt look at based on his finals guy, same with Harvey. Conversely, LeCras has an absolutely ridiculously easy run home after Geelong + his bye.

So, I would really toss up between Cloke + Brennan and LeCras.

Cloke has, imo the hardest run home of the three, while Lecras still has a bye left.

Subsequently, for overall, I would be choosing Brennan.

I would personally just hold Jvoldt, unless he is the player letting your team down the most atm, then I would do the trade.

Do anything you can to avoid a 0, if you're going for elim/ overall. If you're going for league, a solitary 0 with easy matchups can be carried.

Hmm thanks - i'm going to look at my option here. You pretty much came to the same conclusion as me - Cloke, Brennan and LeCras are the best options.

Another question then.

I could upgrade Heppell --->Shaw this week and not upgrade Knights.

And then go Knights--->LeCras after his bye.

However Knights will lose a fair amount of cash in the meantime, whereas Heppell won't lose as much (and also I could upgrade Lower instead who should hold his value this week).

Or Knights--->Brennan/Cloke this week?

Ziplock

Knights to brennan/ cloke this week.

I don't need to give reasons- your own are sound.

we could do a stat break down

So, situation 1, you keep heppell and straight swap knights.

considering current averages, and presuming you get brennan/ cloke

80 + (let's say 90)

=170 points x 2
=340 points

that being said, heppells recent average could drag that score down.

Situtation 2, you trade heppell for shaw, and keep knights for the next two weeks

93 + 75
= 168
=338 points.

so, only a slight loss points wise, based on current averages.

That being said, both Heppell and knights form is down atm. Taking in a 3 game average for them both (cbf 4 game for the others)

1. 64 + 90 (x2) = 308
2. 50 + 93 (x2)= 286

Heppell has a better 3 game average, raising the point difference the 22. That being said, knight's 20 was a one off, if you remove that score as such, he has an average of 65 over the last 3, leaving option 2 in the lead for overall points.

If you also consider that, because of Lecras' easy run home (with the exception of geelong), he will average probably 5 ppg more than his dawes/ brennan, he makes up for those lost points by fielding knights instead of trading him pretty easily.

Subsequently- trade heppell now, trade in lecras after his bye (if you will have the cash with knight's price drops)

Hello Ziplock, i need help in my defence.

Should i trade out N.Lower or D.Heppell for C.Enright this week.

My mids are Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Shaw, Heppell, Lower, Hibberd - B.Smith/Howard/Puopolo

Eventually, I'd like to have Enright and Fisher, will Hibberd  be a suitable 7th back?

Or Alternatively, can you suggest another trade strategy?

I have $490,000 in the bank with 11 trades remaining, but i still need to upgrade Knights to Goodes, Harris to Pendlebury, Petrie/Smith to Sandilands.

Thanks in advance  :)

tough call, they've both peaked, but I'm guessing you're only intending on keeping whoever you dont trade, so no biggy there I guess. Practically identical prices. Lowers current form beats Heppells, although Heppels overall average beats lowers, and heppell isn't prone to the same inconsistencies.

I rate heppells JS above lowers (although I believe Heppell will be rested this week), when freos injuries begin to return, Lower's going to be a frigne player at best. Heppell has 3/4 bottom 8 teams to come, while lower has 4.

they're pretty much neck and neck. Personally, I would drop Lower. Heppell has shown more over the season and appears to just be in a form slump- he should be right with a rest.

although, considering you're trading both out though, especially soon, Heppell has to go first- purely based on BE and how much cash he'll lose. Lower can wait another week- his BE is achievable vs brisbane.

Hibberd can suffice as a 7th back. I wouldn't want to rely on his JS though- but with pups there as well you should be fine.

pretty much yes, given his form this season. That being said, chappy is also a bargain atm.

Hi ziplock

my team this week is:
gibbs deledio shaw broughton otten lower pedersen (goddard heppell toy)

ablett swan pendlebury boyd watson harris (jacobs montagna prestia)

cox smith  (vardy derickx)

fyfe sylvia goodes didak mzungu darling lynch (riewoldt franklin mckernan)

8 trades 57k

really need to win my league game this week and forward line is looking a little weak. im looking at offloading heppell or darling.
was considering

heppell --> bob murphy (DP him in to the forwards this week)
heppell --> enright

or switch heppell into the mids downgrade to callinan or another rookie and upgrade darling to whoever (maybe stevie j)

cheers in advance

Ziplock

if you need to pump up your forward line, then murphy is your best option. If he can average 80-90 from now on, he'll suffice as a 7th forward. I don't like the idea of downgrading heppell to callinan purely due to the loss of dpp link.

Dear Mr Zip.

Current line-up for this weeks looks like this

Backs: Gibbs, Lids, Rawlings, Shaw, Broughton, Puops, Jacobs (goddard, L thompson, toy)

Mids: Murphy, Boyd, Thompson, Pendles, Swan, Hibberd (bartel, bewick, prestia)

Rucks: COx, Smith (Sadni, Curnow)

Fwd: Johnson, Pav, CHappy, Knights, Higgins, Mzungu (reiwoldt, mckernan, matera)

9 trades left + $75k.

I want Sylvia in this week, so was thinking Matera to Dahlhaus and McKernan to Sylvia. (think i've got enough $$)

Good move, and if so what would be my next suggested move?

Ziplock

That's what I would be doing. I would sit tight for a while after than, Rucks, Fwds, Mids are all finished,

your backs can cover one rookie such as pups or hibberd for the rest of the season, or at least the majority.

WIth players like joshnson, chappy, murphy, gibbs, rawlings, you're going to want to save trades come finals.

Mr.Craig

Howdy Ziplock...I need to have a league win to sure up my top 4 spot and have Selwood, Bartel in my mids. I'm hanging on to Joel but might have to pull the trigger on Jimmy if he doesn't come up. With $358,000 to spend I'm thinking Dustin Martin is the best bet, would go Dal Santo except for the untimely bye. Would you agree with Martin or do you see better value in Stanton, Kelly or Scully? Cheers.

a little bit unorthodox, but I see value in scully, especially for league. Look at his finals run- richmond, GC, PA. looks like a sneaky pick- he averaged nearly 90 against richmond last year as well (for next weeks game).
