your backline needs the most fixing, I wouldn't even bother trading in swan- honestly, he can wait a week with a BE of 144. What about getting in shaw this week for your backline and fisher next week? that'll almost complete your backs as well. Then bring in swan as your final mid upgrade, will leave you a little tight for trades, but you should be alright.

I have a very important league game this week (obviously not going for overall), so I'm trying to maximise my points for it.

Without Swan I'm playing I.Smith. Swan could very well blast out a 120+ and beat I.Smith by say 50 points.
Any defensive trade I don't think will make up that any points? What do you think?

Ziplock

sorry, I was thinking league, but for the long run... for immediate punching power, swan is probably your best bet. Good luck with him though :)

PowerBug

Wow, it's been a while since i've been in this half of the FanFooty forum, been stuck to FromThePavilion, for those cricket lovers, this game is awesome!

Anyway, I'll have my team posted in the RMDT section, so if you could have a look Zip, help is appreciated :)

Ziplock

ok, I'll go take a look.

Alka

Thanks.
Any thought on who I should trade out for him?
I could go...
Evans -> Swan
B.Smith -> Golby

then next week

I.Smith -> Callinan
Puopolo -> Premium Defender

And that would leave me with roughly 100k to do a straight upgrade of Hibberd/Otten to another premium.
Only problem is, that leaves me with Golby and Toy on my bench... not ideal.
Do you know of any other rookie defenders, maybe not on the bubble this week, that might have better JS?

Also I find it interesting you mentioned Shaw and Fisher as two upgrade targets.
I was actually thinking Enright and Fisher. I think Shaw is just too inconsistent for me.
Maybe even Suckling. Opinions on these 4?

Hey again Zip! Just one more question for you mate!

Who would you start on the field out of: Heppell, Hibberd, Poupolo, Howard?

Currently have Heppell and Hibberd on the field, but I have a feeling Poupolo may score more? Heppell seems to have dropped off the last few weeks!

danoz

thanks zip great advice

I can see where you're coming on about shaw for league- however, he's been far more consistent this season than he is normally, he only really does poorly against bad teams. Fisher would be my no.1 target in your situation, enright is incredibly underpriced atm, however, for league he has a finals bye. I wouldn't pick him up unless he was drilling it, and you would definitely win your first final.

Suckling has been a good player this year, if you don't want shaw I would go him rather than enright. He plays GC rd 24 as well, hawthorn have an easy finals draw- he could be the difference between you winning or losing.

If heppell was really tiring, he would be rested. That suggests to me that's a form slump rather than him just failing because his tired. Subsequently, he could at any time come back firing with back to back 80s/90s, and you don't want him on your bench for that.

Myself, I am fielding Hibberd and Heppell.

Just finshed it now. Backline is the major problem. Can't believe that Sandi's back.

ihave just realised that this move will give me 5 players out for the muilti-bye in my fwd line.
(i have a mpp with prestia in mid which will reduce that to 4 if he plays)
Do i go to Didak instead?

That's what I would be doing. I would sit tight for a while after than, Rucks, Fwds, Mids are all finished,

your backs can cover one rookie such as pups or hibberd for the rest of the season, or at least the majority.

WIth players like joshnson, chappy, murphy, gibbs, rawlings, you're going to want to save trades come finals.

OP:

Dear Mr Zip.

Current line-up for this weeks looks like this

Backs: Gibbs, Lids, Rawlings, Shaw, Broughton, Puops, Jacobs (goddard, L thompson, toy)

Mids: Murphy, Boyd, Thompson, Pendles, Swan, Hibberd (bartel, bewick, prestia)

Rucks: COx, Smith (Sadni, Curnow)

Fwd: Johnson, Pav, CHappy, Knights, Higgins, Mzungu, Howe (reiwoldt, mckernan, matera)

9 trades left + $75k.

I want Sylvia in this week, so was thinking Matera to Dahlhaus and McKernan to Sylvia. (think i've got enough $$)

Good move, and if so what would be my next suggested move?

Ziplock

damn, unfortunate. Yeah, for an underpriced premium, didak is your next best bet. 5 out in one line is too much- for overall anyway.

For league, it's a multibye round, so getting sylvia won't hurt at all.

Chopps

not this week but is it insane to have Volt as 8th forward, 7 out of my next 8 rounds i need good cover as good as volt is

Fyfe,sylvia, goodes,petrie,chappy, higgins, Smith this week

buddy, volt, richardson on the bench

best line up,
Fyfe, Sylvia, Goodes, Petrie, Chappy, Higgins, Buddy.

thinking here is volt will play most weeks anyway.
rd 15 - petrie covers cox
rd 16 - fyfe, sylvia out
rd 17 - buddy out
rd 18 -
rd 19 - goodes out
rd 20 Higgins out
Rd 21 Petrie out
rd 22 - chappy out

Ziplock

who have you been benching instead of him?

but yeah, basically, I would be using voldt as cover in your position- at least until he shows form that says he has his A game back.
