so in other words you are saying that after 13 rounds you only have 4 premium midfielders, so u still need 3-4 trades to get that mid set-up. seems to me thats the first thing that should have been completed(since it makes the most points)
maybe i have missed the point in this post, but what a side will look like in a few weeks time(if,maybe,as long as,barring injuries/suspensions) between now and then.  i could just post the best 7 forwards and say in 5 trades/3 weeks time that will be my forward set-up

You are spot on upthemaidens. There can be a difference between what you think your team will look like in a few weeks to what it actually does end up looking like. Good point about it being 13 rounds down and still no midfield finalised. As you say (and I can not agree more) I would have thought that would have been done by this stage.

Ziplock

my midfield is done... I mean, bye etc. mean I've had to dpp higgins in (to cover swan), but atm my mid is

Swan, Boyd, Ablett, Scott Thompson, A Swallow, Dal Santo.

looks a little weak, but those guys knocked out 30th place last week ;)

My Mids are done this week , Swan Pendles Boyd Montagna Redden and i have taken a punt on Scully as my 6th mid. I hope he can repay my faith!

This week I’m trading in Pendles and next week I will be getting Swan.

I am absolutely salivating at the thought of my final midfield, and will have them all on the field in weeks 15, 16, 18, 21, 22 and 24 barring injury/suspension.

Can anyone beat this midfield?

Ablett, Swan, Boyd, M Murphy, Pendlebury and Mitchell

I am expecting 770 points from my midfield per week (110 each plus one of them captain every week = min 110x2) and if they all score above average I could get 850-900 points from them.

What are your final midfields like?

Actually no I had six premiums but unfortunately was hit by Mundy and Selwood's injury and suspension. So i'm getting in Swan and Pendles for them.

And i only need to make two trades to get in these guys (have 190K in the bank). Before you ask my ranking is 709 and I scored 2055 last week so i've been going pretty well on the points front.

I guess the point is that i'm just excited about the prospect of playing Ablett, Swan, Boyd, M Murphy, Pendlebury and Mitchell all at once in my midfield.

I would say on paper it is the best DT midfield I have ever had in any one season (based on who is in form that year).

I am currently very strongly considering getting both Swan and Pendles this week now that I have decided to keep Adcock and don't want Sylvia (too many out in multi-bye round, but that's a whole new kettle of fish).

On the topic of new rules for DT why not introduce a DT sub rule.

The way it would work IMO is that each player has one sub and two emergencies.

The sub is like the number one emergency but with an exception - if one of your players doesn't play you score the sub's points, regardless of the position the doughnut is in. I.E. if a ruck is a late withdrawal and you have your sub in the mid you get his points instead of the ruck emergency.
So the player is 'subbed' in to your 22 to replace an injured player (except in this case it is a late withdrawal).

Normal rules apply if there is more than one doughnut and if there is a doughnut on the line the sub is on he is used on that line and can't be used as an emergency across lines.

Im thinking that the sub rule could work in a situation where say u have Ben Jacobs on 23 in the last quarter and you think gee i will take a punt on Prestia getting a better score so u sub Jacobs out for Prestia, would make it a lot more like being a coach i reckon maybe it could work maybe it wouldnt just an idea

ok now i see..  it was the first line that thru me off. it sounded like you had to do downgrade-upgrade for 2 weeks to get 2 premiums.    if it was just str8 swaps than why wouldnt u have just done it in the same week, but it is now clearer.
you may be the only person NOT to have one of either swan or pendles from the start of the year.
since everyones posing their mids i guess i'll add mine...
swan, pendles, ablett, boyd, murphy and priddis   pretty happy with that, priddis is my unique type X-factor.  with d.swallow/bewick/(mzunga/smith) filling out the bench for time being

I didn't really explain it so that's fair enough. Actually I did have Swan - I was one of the crazy ones who traded him out before his first bye (proven to be a cracking decision).

Priddis is a great unique - as an Eagles fan I would love to have more of them in my team (only got Cox and had Darling) especially as they are doing so well.

If LeCras didn't have a bye in a couple of weeks I would love to jump on him for Knights this week.

With Kerr so dangerous (not from a DT perspective though) and back in form Priddis should be given a bit more leeway.

Victorius Secret
