You dont understand i got Swallow in my team when he was worth only $350,000 for one reason, his breakeven. His price has now rose by $60,000 and his breakeven this week is 122 which he only has a 23% chance of achieve against Port Adelaide a team he averages 73 points against. The sole reason I got Swallow in my team was to trade him out when his price rise came to an end. This is the most likely week when it would come to the end and start declining so I stuck to the plan and traded him out for a higher averaging player with a low breakeven. Ablett has a breakeven of 83 and footywire calculatored that he would have a 88% chance of beating it against the Bulldogs a team he has a career average of 96 against. Therefore this week was the last chance to add Gazza to my midfield before he went out of Swallows price range. I also have 20 trades left still so I think I can afford to make some errors through sideways trading. Now my midfield consists of Scott Pendlebury, Marc Murphy, Liam Shiels, Tom Rockliff (purchased for the same reason as Swallow), Gary Ablett, Issac Smith, Mzungu and Michael Evans. I think the trade will turn out for the better and give my team a higher market value. Also with Ablett to is more time to fix errors due to his high price and low breakevens incase he fails to reach breakevens.

But I respect everyones opinions because they have helped for the better and some differcult situations, So  Thanks to everyone who replied their opinions.

we understand that- the reason for trading in swallow for a 60k price rise was kind of pointless and a waste of a trade.

Trading him out with his 5 game average was just a poor move.

On a side note, I only just read how many trades you have. The trade isn't that bad in that situation- you're right, you can afford to burn trades.

Holz

With Bartel potentially out i might be forced to double trade gaz in, but that would leave me with only 3 trades.

I would h ave a mid of Swan, Boyd, Pendles, Gaz, Mitchell, Montagna   (Didak) though, thats a failry solid line up.

On a lighter note...
Long live the king GAJ!

Sorry mate, but I call bull on you still having 20 trades. You traded in Swallow... 1 trade gone, and out again that's 2... plus you got in Rockliff, 3, and you have Mzungu, Smith and Evans on the bench, players you almost certainly didn't start with as none of them played until recently... so that already makes 6 trades out of 24, leaving you with 18, and that's only just from looking at your midfield!

The only thing I can deduce from that is that you're either a troll, or you're trying to deflect the bagging you've received for your pointless sideways trade by lying about how many trades you have. I might also mention you've only listed 5 premiums and 3 bench players... who is your 9th midfielder?

I can call bull on you two cos i made this team only 4 weeks ago Swallow Mzungu Evans and Rockliff were all chosen in my original team.

Anyways Gazza scored 118 this week and went up in price and still mantains a low breakeven whilst Swallow only scored 71 this week and went down in price and has a high breakeven. I also would of lost the match if i kept Swalllow. In the end all of you guys were incorrect and I made the correct trading decision so flower you

"it was a good decision"

You're basing the fact it was a good decision on one week... lmao

What if GAJ gets season ending injury this week and Swallow pumps out 150...

Alka

Quick to base decisions on not much evidence aren't we?

I was enjoying how you stated this earlier:

Higgins average against the Gold Coast is 126 point, Boyds average against Gold Coast is 125 points and Abletts average against Western Bulldogs is over 100 points. This match could be my last chance to receive Gary Ablett.

So that's Higgins' and Boyd's averages from their ONE game against Gold Coast (prior to this week obviously).

Obviously only having created your team 4 weeks ago and having 20 trades is a completely different situation, and you probably should have mentioned that out-right. Most of us prize our trades too much to do side-ways trades.

Atley -> Gaz a few weeks back
had him captain ever since!

Exactly. The vast majority of teams on here were started right off the bat... I might add that he has still only listed 8 mid's too...

Why don't you post your entire team on here Dtboy? I'm sure we can find about 5 other trades that would have helped you more than Swallow > Gaz... and in case you haven't noticed from the posts on this forum, in a REAL team, the price of premiums DOESN'T matter unless the player has had a role change and looks like his scoring will drop dramatically. That's why your trade seemed completely stupid, even by the standards of a sideways trade.

Oh and i'd just like to ask gazza to lift his game. His 118 was my lowest score in my whole midfield...

same here besides pendlebury i had murphy 120 rockliff 122 shiels 134 smith 138

elephants

Rockliffe - 122
Marc - 120
Gazza - 118
Swan - 125
Boyd (C) - 136

Smith was in my Fwds ;)

The Grundles

Didn't pick him, and not really worried because you KNOW that at one point during the season, he will be rested.  Gold coast with no hope of the finals, he becomes less of a necessity towards the latter half of the season...esp if he has a niggle (which he is prone to late season).

You would be equally happy with a Murphy, Boyd or Pendles.
