He has been a pretty good midfield option for a few years judging by his previous averages, although last year he dropped ~15 off 07.

Will he bounce back, or will it get just worse. I am considering him as a mid premium.

Didnt Nick Dal play abit across 1/2 back in the NAB against Brisbane?

Perhaps he will play more across there whilst Goddard goes on the ball, and Gilbert FWD.

Dal Santo is a very good SCer, more so than DT. He may play a General type role back there and with more time and his elite kicking could carve up in '09.

A bit of a unique pick too at this stage looking at all the other carbon copy teams being posted.

St's fans might know more or have other theories.

Well priced, proven performer, young enough and in a successful team. I say yes, why not.

Heater

He is definately a SC player rather than DT.

He is around that price where other players look just as tempting (Pendles, Thompson, Cassisi, Mitchell, etc) so getting him could make your side different than others.  Dal Santo has been rarely spoken of or mentioned in other forums so he might be worth a punt....

Queenslander

yeah i think he could do quite well this year. he's at that stage in his career where he can take the next step and become a full fledged superstar. i also see not many choosing him, he wasnt in my original side, but i think i'll pick him.

pcgarschagen

i wouldnt pick him... very rarely did his name stand out for me last year. waste of money, get cuz and save urself 100thousand

But teams realized that he can't handle a tagger. So they just tag him out of the game and his scores suffer. The reason that he has been tested at half back is in the event that he gets tagged out in the midfield they can move Goddard to mid and move him to backline.......my worry is that the tagger will follow him.

Like Heater said.......there are others in that price bracket much much much more tempting. J Selwool, Goodes, Pendelbury.......all of them much more likely to be successful.

Queenslander

is there any chance he can adapt to this tagging? it didnt look promising last year when taggers went to him. its worth the risk to pick him in my opinion.

dal santo is washed up, cant handle a tag and simply does not get the ball enough compared to other players in his price range.i reckon he will be lucky to ave 80 this year. cant get a hard ball to save his life which gets players that boost in scores, stay away from him

Queenslander

the tagging point is a good one. i still think he is a very skillful player, but there is a risk with him. scott pendlebury seems a similar player in skill and poise, but i think he has more aggression and can take a tag. actually do you think sides will use their top tagger on him (pendlebury)? i dont watch too many collingwood games. its a toss up between dal santo and pendlebury for me.

Disco

At the moment i've got NDS and Pendlebury, but NDS is not a lock. Swan is the main guy from pies to get tagged, which is why he gets rotated off the bench heaps.
