Hey guys, like I said I feel I might have left me run to late with trades and am now forcing myself to downgrade rather than upgrade at the moment.  What you think?

Salary: $425,200
Trades: 15
League: Sitting 2nd on equal points with 1st and 3rd (will most likely make finals) In saying that I am not in a big hurry to remove Selwood from my team.  I have enough cover for no donuts but the bench has been stretched very far.  So assuming a hold on the Selwood sideways trade so as not lose value in other spots I was thinking I would upgrade Darling to Sylvia which would complete my backline, and then downgrade Matera to Howe.
upgrade = -$124,000
downgrade = +$157,000
overall = (+ $33,000)

or Dahlhaus next week rather than Howe and double Prem uprgade this week? not sure who is the better option as a forward rookie

Round 14: Upgrade Atley to GAJ
swap Mzungu with Krak and upgrade Krak to a prem mid

Round 15: Toy to Fisher

Any opinions, advice criticism welcome.

Cheers

If you aren't real sure about Howe or Dahlhaus you could bring in Callinan, he hasn't played any games yet but he is a mature aged recruit and a monty for some when he gets over his injury, Callinan is also mpp so he can be moved around if needed

mmm, not to keen on trading in a player who hasn't played yet.  Would rather one which is playing.
Was just thinking maybe swap krak and mzungu, trade krak to sylvia the darling to Howe or Dahlhaus?? I was fairly impressed by Dahlhaus game against the Saints coming off the bench.

IMO I would rethink the Selwood policy - He will miss 5 of the next 11 games so is it better to trade out now as you will probably have to for finals.  Basically the question is will the points you get from say Atley average 71 allow you to keep winning these matches while Selwood is out compared with Say Gary Abletts Average 124.  You have ample trades at the moment an imo should be looking to finish team off for finals.
If I had your team:
This week Selwood to GAJ (will not be cheaper) cost $50k
Matera to Callinan gain $170k bank now $545k

Next Week
Darling to Sylvia $120k

Following Week
Swallow to Swan if bottomed out $100k
Toy/Heppell  to Fisher

Leaving 10 trades plus cash.

Yeh nice, the only reason I am hesitant to finish my team so quickly is that I am pretty much a shoe in to make finals and I don't want to miss these rookie opportunities, using the extra cash to beef up my bench most likely.

Is Callinan going to play the rest of the season or something? Why is he getting backed so heavily when he hasn't played a game yet? Did I miss an article.

I will be aiming to bring in Sandi also which which might be a straight smith swap, ill address that later though I guess, I dont think cash will be an issue

Can understand and with 15 trades you have possibly missed a few along the way.  Callinan is a mature aged recruit who was injured pre season and now regaining fitness in reserves I believe so may be an option.  Even if he does not play he will give you an additional MPP link to forwards which may be useful during final rounds.

You can keep an eye on GC rotations as well and possibly downgrade to some of them as well. With 10 trades after round 15 you will be well set especially if you trade Smith for Sandi as I suspect vardy will keep playing for Geelong. Be flexible with plan to take advantage of downgrade opportunities as they eventuate.

If I was in your position with 15 trades my plan would be to work out how to get Prems for all position in lines with minimal trades eg 7 Prem def, 6 Prem Mids and 7 Prem forwards and then work on ensuring strong bench cover eg in your team I would consider Krakouer strong D8.

BTW I currently envy your team and position well done.

yeh I guess im always worried i will miss a rookie and then every week a new one keeps coming into play so I should probably just focus on upgrades and im sure a rookie will make themselves available to me when I need the money.

Alot of work to do in the backline also so I will have to address that soon.

Yeh im v/ happy with my position although I have had minimal injuries compared to alot of other people so I've had some luck thrown in there.

thanks for the advice mate
