BOOMZ, consider yourself incredibly lucky. That other player I was going to take instead of Stynes, was indeed Bob Rose.

The return

wow the draft is going very quick, I LIKE IT :)

Wow, this is going quick!
I'm going to choose the man that revolutionized the mark.

Alex Jesaulenko will be my Half Forward Flanker ;D

Wow this is going fast. Awesome.  :D

c4v3m4n's eight pick in the All Time Fantasy Draft is....

...Bernie Smith.

Arguably, the greatest back pocket in the history of the AFL, Bernie Smith played 55 games for West Adelaide and then 183 games for Geelong, a career spanning 13 years between 1945 - 1958.

In this time he collected numerous awards, that include:

  • West Adelaide Best and Fairest in 1947
  • West Adelaide Premiership player in 1947 (including BOG)
  • Geelong Captain in 1950 and 1954
  • Geelong Best and Fairest winner in 1951 and 1956
  • Geelong Premiership player in 1951 and 1952
  • Brownlow Medallist in 1951
  • Played for both South Australia (1 game) and Victoria (4 games) in State of Origin
  • Named in both Geelong's and the AFL's "Team of the Century and is also a AFL Hall of Fame member

Another surprising player that has fallen through the cracks.  ;)

he was unbelievable in those 2 GF's :o

CrowsFan

Yeah I was 7 when they won that first GF and had only just started paying attention to footy and remember thinking that McLeod was amazing!
He deserved a brownlow in my opinion but was robbed!

RiOtChEsS

i remember thinking he would be win multiple charlies after 97 but it never eventuated...

im a little partial to the crows as they debuted in the afl the year i moved to sa and the whole state was a buzz with footy, good times 8)

Should have won it in the 2001 season when Aker won it.
Didn't poll a vote in the final 2 games even though he had 35+ possessions in each game a huge number of inside 50's a couple of goals, and loads of clearances etc. Yet didn't get a vote so Aker won  ::)
