The LAST player to join the team:
Ron Phillips

Ron Phillips was the first genuine utility to dominate the SANFL. Throughout his 210 game senior career (199 games for West Adelaide, 1 for Norwood, 10 for SA) Phillips played in just about every position on the ground and he played exceptionally well in every one of those positions. Perhaps his most remarkable feat (and most remembered) was when in 1948 he won West Adelaide's B&F and the Magarey Medal playing predominately across the half back line, and then in 1949 when injury struck The Bloods Phillips was thrust into the forward line where he showed his immense versatility. He once again had a fantastic season, winning another Magarey Medal, another B&F and topping the goalkicking for West Adelaide. For the next 3 seasons Phillips continued to play forward, and his brilliance shone through as it had on the last line, topping his clubs goalscoring for the next 3 years. This saw him become the key to the success of the West Adelaide team that one premierships in '49 & 52. From this point onwards every swingman in the SANFL attempted to replicate his consistency and his brilliance. However his courage, intensity, pace and high marking meant Phillips was never matched and may never be matched. Truly one of the greatest and most versatile players ever to pull on the boots.

A Swans superstar and probably one of the hardest taggers to beat when he was playing, also probably the most modern player i have :)

Oh ok. Then I will take Charles Pearson. Inventor in many people's eyes as the inventor of the high mark.

Oh right! Forgot completely. I'll reset the poll.

EDIT: I can't seem to edit/remove the expired poll (or get rid of the timer) so would it be OK if we all just posted if we want it (or don't.)
We could always just go ahead as well, most people seemed to want it.
