I'm looking to trade either Grimes or Broughton for Hodge next week.

Which player is more likely to play out the season / get me more points as the one I don't trade will have to play on the field.

Cheers :)

Blueboys

Keep them both! I wouldn't trade either of them....

Leather Poisoning

Agree with Blueboys..
Would be the difference of 20-30 points maybe? Not worth it.
Especially when Hodge has been a huge under-performer this year.
Ellis would be a better option in my opinion! :)

If Only...

If Grimes and Broughton are in your team, who is on your bench?  Agree wih Blueboys - at this stage of the season I would keep both, perhaps with Broughton as a playing emergency after upgrading one of the players on your bench.  A sub 300k Hodge is incredibly tempting though, I agree!  Playing with an injury in a depleted backline that had Mitchell playing Hodges role from last year was not his onion.  Doubt he will get back to last years lofty heights, but is good valuefor less than 300k imo.  Got 28 touches and should hopefully average 85 odd for remainder of season.

On my bench at the moment is Pratt (who has played just the one game and unlikely to come back in and is still at rookie price) and Chad Cornes - I'm carrying Cornes until he comes good.

I also have Suban playing, but will go back on the bench when Cornes comes back in.

I have $60,000 in the back, so I need to trade a player that is worth roughly $240,000.

I feel Hodge is a must come finals. He was playing injured earlier in the season, and since he's been back he seems to be hitting 2008 form and I think he'll be back to his best after the break.

I'd love to trade Suban for Hodge obviously, but I think I'm going to fall at least $30k short after this week.

The other option is looking at a double trade - but with only 5 trade left, I can't really afford to.

Broughton and Grimes have been averaging really good - but I don't really have a lot of faith in them to be getting the same numbers come round 22.

Interesting situation.  I am in a similar position.  I have Hill, Grimes and Broughton - two of whom need to be in my team.  Luckily I don't have a star waiting on the bench though.  I have been tossing up the idea of trading hill for Hodge and then having to pick only one of grimes or broughton for the team (or raines if he comes back lol).  As tempting as it is, I have basically decided that trades are too valuable (given that I will make the finals without Hodge).  If I get no injuries, I will trade the worst of the three for a good defender soon before finals (there will always be some value about) and cope with both broughton and grimes in my team in the meanwhile.

If I were you, I would let Hodge slip past if you are confident of making the finals.  If not, I would think seriously of trading him for Grimes or Cornes (he is still listed as 4-5 and who knows if he will have his usual impact from day one ... which may be the first week of finals!)
