With Geelong travelling the way it is, any team would need to play at the top of their game. I see this game as an opportunity for Hawthorn to make a statement, especially if Buddy doesn't play.
I don't know at what stage of the game he got injured last week, but if he didn't play during the last quarter then it will be on. The Hawks are in form, and so is Geelong, so what we have is 2 top teams at the peak of their powers playing each other. Personally I hope Buddy plays, but if he doesn't, will that tip the scale in Geelongs favor?

Just realized Buddy didn't play last week, sorry.

As good as Buddy is, I think the weakness in the Geelong defence is in its small defenders.

Play Cyril, Osbourne, rotate Hodge/Burgoyne and play the super sub Bruest from the start. I think that will be the key to the match.

Agree with you, finally! Geelong should win, but Hawthorn will be competitive, with or without Buddy.

As long as you don't bomb it in long and give Geelongs slower defenders a chance to man up. Pace is the key, look for a leading forward and kick it into space. Geelong have become as good as Collingwood at stoppages, so, the best thing is to try to avoid them.
I think this is going to be a terrific tactical dual between the 2 sides. Geelong will try to exploit a perceived lack of height in your back line. You will have jPod, Vardy and at times Otto slinking around the forward line.
As usual, the game will be won and lost in the center. If our midfielders can make you guys kick under pressure our backs will sweep it forward. Assuming we win more of the ball than your forwards of course.
Both coaches will be watching this game closely, and maybe try things with a view to the finals, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they try something a little unorthodox. For example, re-call Tommahawk and play him in a forward pocket. Something from left field.

flowering joke. As a Hawthorn supporter I honestly don't understand why we always choke against Geelong since the premiership. We've been in a winning position literally every time we've played them and lost every single time its a flowering disgrace and that last quarter was a flowering joke.

I just want to know what Selwood did to make Guerra go to the ground. Seems like the AFL are hiding it.

I was 150 meters away from the contest and I could see that was a push in the back. Just a joke!!

ripping match, so odd the way each team took turns in dominating play 8)

Cruiseon

Top game, best of the season so far.

Hawks supporters do us all a favour & don't blame the umps. Personally I think Buddy was staging BUT you didn't score in the final quarter, no one wins when that happens. Plenty of positives to take away (except poor Roughhead).

Hodge failed his first real test as Captain, ironic that Mitchell was fantastic.

Cruise, Geelong have some lucky umpiring calls in the dying moments though. Against us and you guys.

Your fast getting a name as a pack of whingers .. now your players are as bad as your supporters .. this from the AFL site .. "EVIDENCE from Hawthorn’s Brent Guerra after an investigation on Monday has helped the match review panel charge Geelong star Joel Selwood with a level-five striking offence" .. squealing, whinging, losers

As for Buddy's dive .. there were decisions all day that could have gone either way it's just 'cos Buddy's dive was in the last few seconds that it's getting air play .. if I was you guys I'd be worrying more why you could raise your legs in the last quarter .. was it your President who said that you are mentally tougher than us .. ha what a laugh !?

EVIDENCE from Hawthorn’s Brent Guerra

That evidence was a medical report you muppet! They are required to submit one by the match review panel. From that they seek interviews with the involved players that they are required to take part in.

If I went up to you in the street and king hit you I can guarantee that you would complain and more than likely go to the police so I don't know what you are going on about anyway.

And which way did they go? The 13 - 1 free kick count at quarter might give you the answer.
