Hey Guys: Team attached, trying to work out who to start in M7 (as i think its the best use of MPP FWD/MID cover)

Any thoughts very much appreciated

Cheers

You've obviously had Didak from the start, or traded him in for a reason. I think, even with his average form this season, still worth a gig over a rookie

Add to that the fact that both Swan and Thomas are out of the Pies midfield this week, could be a chance for Didak to grab a larger piece of the SC scoring pies - perhaps having a rotating run through midfield like last season

diddley

didak. if he doesnt step it up this week, he should be dropped.

+1 You would think he will definitely seem midfield time this week. Plus with out Thomas and Swan that is an extra 250 points per game to share around!

Um.. definitely Didak.

OUCH for next weeks byes btw! Especially if Franklin doesnt pull thru and Fyfe's shoulder dont hold up!

Yeah i hear ya, didn't plan on having 3 prems out with injury + the byes, guess we'll see how it goes

seems like Didak is the obvious choice then

thanks guys

BTW, looking at your team ive noticed something..
Your FWD line is WAY too strong lol.. it may seem like a great thing, but think about the potential you have lost in terms of scoring mids! You have NINE fwds that can start on their day.. wow..

Didak should stay at swing cover for the finals on current form and price, hibberd may need to be upgraded along with Mzungu quicker than others will do the same. get them Premium Mids into your team!

oh and thompson should be the subject of a downgrade when you see fit also.

Sorry for my 2 bob lol

Thanks for all the advice, nothing amiss there

Dont forget though of the 9 4 can swing into the Mids

First string mid lineup is

Swan, Pendles, Priddis, Murphy, Selwood and Boak with premium mid backup from ROK, Goodes, Fyfe and Sylvia.

Under its current config its heavy at the front, but there are two premium mids on the bench in Swan and Boak (debatable i guess for boak)

Im more focussed on the backs and totally agreed L Thompson is due for a downgrade

i dont at all think your forward line is too strong, i dont at all think your midfield is weak. if all your players are starting then okeefe is the weakest midfielder you have averaging 102?? that doesnt sound too bad to me. if you want any advice all i can see you need to do is upgrade lower or scarlett in the backs maybe to a newman now hes had his bye. depends if ur going for league or overall. but you have a really sweet team so far!!

masterjudd

i obviously disagree..

When you can have a midfield of say pendles, murphy, swan, priddis, selwood and boak (lets say for arguments sake he chose someone else like S.Thompson) all CLEARLY averaging over 115 points per game, why would you lock it down with a ROK, Goodes, Fyfe or Didak? too much MONEY spent on fwds, not enough on mids is probably a fairer comment for me to make.. please tell me you no longer disagree with the concept of having too many MPP's in your mids?

dominic17

the reason he has okeefe in the mids is because swan and boak are out..... otherwise i would imagine he would swap mzungu to the mids and okeefe back to the forwards and have boak and swan back in the mids. then he doesnt have any premium forwards playing in the mids. thats the whole point of having mpp is it not? anyway i think hes got it sussed id be focused on the backline if anything

masterjudd

and leave any two of yarran or didak or Reiwoltd on bench?.. wow.. thats a LOT of money to have sitting on the pine!
Hope you see my point.

ROK, Goodes, Nroo,Jroo, Fyfe, Sylvia, Franklin.. Still leaves Yarran, Didak (going by start of year price) and a darling on bench.

dominic17

i thinks its great to have one descent player on those lines as cover for byes, if he didnt have those mpps this week he would be copping a zero in the midfild. with byes and injuries like they are i would be showerting myself if i came up against that team this week, or any other week. pleant of cover for injuries and byes. theres not really any weeks where you are able to play your full team so having one good player on the bench is perfect since they are used nearly every week. he has nroo, jroo, darling and yarran all averaging well under 90 in the forwrds. noone in the mids averaging under 100 and only 2 in defence averaging under 90. still dont see what your point is. darling is still a rookie anyway so more of a cash cow than someone to have on the bench "wasting money" as u put it.

masterjudd

Haha exactly my point, he has Nroo, Jroo and yarran ALL averaging UNDER 90 ppg.. how much money is wasted there on fwds? imagine he had started off with a stronger midfield and proven scorers..? you couldnt go wrong with priddis, judd etc.

i never said darling was wasting money. i pointed out his 800k or so sitting on the pine and the beggining of the season for example. Why would you want 9 potential starters in your fwds? 7 or 8 i can understand. loss of money being able to be spent on his backs. he could have a fisher or newman for example already if he didnt waste it.

dominic17

you want that many starters because you very rearely have a week when they can all start thats what im saying. look forward to the next few weeks and show me a week where everyone can start and someone is on the bench wasting money not playing. nroo and jroo and didak are all proven scorers.... nothing wrong with selecting them they just arent in as good a form as previous years. every player in the midfield is scoring 100 or more, i dont see why you are saying he needs more midfield power? there has been so much talk about how improtant it is to have mpp players and descent bench cover this year and i think this guy has it nailed. anytime theres a bye or injury he isnt relying on 4th or 5th game rookies to win him matches. he has descent players coming in every time. perfect!!
