Just say OKC win Game 5, then they have 2 homecourt games. Is there a chance they can win it?

Cicjose

yes.... but being 2 games in front makes it an uphill battle

in 2006 (when Miami won for the first time) they lost the first 2 to the Mavericks then Dwayne Wade went psycho and the Heat won 4 games in a row to clinch the title something similar would have to happen here....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_NBA_Playoffs#Best_record_in_NBA

go to the bottom of the page and scroll up to see the results of the 2006 series (showing that OKC still are with a shot)

Dwayne Wade averaged 39.25 ppg for the games that Miami won in 2006 and 33.5 for the 2006 finals series

Jake8

Wow. Wade is a beast when he is on fire.

Cicjose

but the issue i have is so many people think that Wade is still top 5 in the NBA
but during this campaign he has been a shadow of his former self and IMO not even in the top 20 players of the league

Windigo

Agreed. Is James having to much influence?

Maybe they don't need Wade....They could trade him & get a couple of decent support crew around James... ???

They should trade Wade for a centre. Of course, they won't... haha

Dwight maybe?

james is having too much influence he is just clearly the best in the team. To be honest they dont need wades role, he is a great player and of course is helping but not nearly as much as he would in any other team. James should never have gone to Miami. Would have been better if the cavs could have got Bosh to join lebron there and some other role players.

Wade is the face of the franchise

i wouldn't sell him but yeah the impact he is having in games is not as significant
as what he had in the 2006 finals series:

no need to trade for a centre, of the current draft selections up for grabs are centres that the league as a whole lacks

Miami also has Turiaf and Anthony as their 2 centres so we don't need a centre but with plenty around coming up on draft day it certainly won't hurt to get one

http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/archive/

there are 11 centres in this draft according to the above list

(1) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/dusan-cantekin/ (very tall but poor all round game) NO

(2) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/festus-ezeli/ (good defence poor offence) NO

(3) (Fab Melo is the best of them and yes that is his name) Miami will NOT get him he is too good to be passed up IMO
http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/fab-melo/NO

(4) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/robert-sacre/ (good defensive centre but with Joel Anthony i think we want an offensive center) OK

(5) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/justin-hamilton/ (good offensive centre (top 15 in most statistical categories so unlikely) ) LIKE

(6) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/meyers-leonard/ (improved his offence last year, 2nd biggest improvement of all college basketball last year) LIKE (bleacher report do NOT like)

(7) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/ognjen-kuzmic/ (poor body strength but good defender) NO

(8 ) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/henry-sims/ (would love him to drop to Miami but not likely, Sims was the only player in the Big East to rank in the top 15 in the conference in blocked shots and assists) UNLIKELY

(9) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/kyle-oquinn/ Good project player but Miami will want a centre ready to play NO

(10) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/garrett-stutz/ (athletically poor but can shoot the basketball) LIKE

(11) http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/bernard-james/ (oldest player in draft and cant shoot) NO

Go to HEAT.COM now for the PRE GAME SHOW

will be the first team to win the championship after trailing in 3 different series in the same season (went behind against Indiana, Boston and Oklahoma)
