Goldstein is dominating in the ruck and i would argue he is amongst the best 3 rucks in the comp with sandi and cox, with sandi out for a while he could be up for all Australian honours.

Now H Mac should be back in about a month and i have no idea where he is going to play. I think goldy may have taken the #1 ruck spot away from him and petrie is the big forward. I can see why he was offered as trade bait a few years back, he is a great player but i dont know where he fits into the lineup.

Im not sure if the roos can play 3 big man with petrie the forward, goldy the ruck and mac as another forward who backs up in the rucks. However saying that if mac works at being a forward that could be a very dangerous forward line if guys like thomas learn to kick straight.

I believe HMac can replace Hansen when he returns as the second tall target. And then take Petrie's time as the back up ruck.

So Goldy number 1 ruck, Petrie permanent full forward and HMac spending majority of the time as the second tall target in the forward line, but spending maybe a third of the game in the ruck, depending how Goldy gets along. HMac is still a great ruckman, so will spend a decent amount of time there.

Agreed that could be a deadly forward line, Petrie and HMac two main tall targets (lot better than Petrie and Hansen!), Edwards another marking target and then players like Boomer, Thomas, Harper, MacMillan, Adams, Wright etc all crumbing the big guys.

even though i think H MAc should stay what do you think of them offering him up to GWS and bringing in a new kid. Ideally yeah he would take hansens role, im a bit annoyed at watching him kick points every week and the ruck combo would probably be the strongest in the AFL.

This has become even tougher lately with the emergence and belief/confidence we've found in Pedersen, the great play of Aaron Edwards, and the guy who never gets dropped no matter how shower he is in Hansen.

I don't want Edwards or Pedersen to get dropped for Hamish, but I think one of them will because Hansen sucks off the whole coaching staff each week before selection. Not but seriously Hamish is my 2nd favourite player in the league, how are we going to fit him in?

Yeah I'd be really upset if he did get traded. Players who get traded for draft picks always get bad value for them as well. If we did trade him :( I'd really hope we can get an established forward.

They are both champions, and if Riewoldt wouldn't go to GC for tons of money, what makes you think he'll come to us?

They don't really need a ruckman anyway, McEvoy doing a great job.

nah i was only joking with these guys. IM not sure if we will be able to find a good deal with him as i think he is underated and with his injury concerns wont be valued as much as we do. Im actually leaning more towards turning him into a forward and keeping him, if he can do that couple with petrie than thats a big forward line.

I thought he started really well, must of got fatigued though because he started to get killed in the 2nd quarter.

Yep I agree. Pedersen did a really good job on Riewoldt after that! Perhaps we could play Petrie+HMac in the forward line, Goldy in the ruck (with HMac helping) and Pedersen playing a key backman. This of course means Hansen gets the axe.
