They all scored around the same haha!

Down to 101, but really a nothing drop. Wouldn't be too fussed. Another upgrade this week beckons, going to chapman if named or Boomer? (in a form slump :O) However that being said, his next 3 are GC, essendon and port, so he SHOULD dominate...

PiggyPommy

Yeah stayed around the same rank. Only about 100 points off 50th so just shows with a big score im right back in there. Not even half way through the season yet!

Not sure Spite, I had Boomer locked in but obviously I look at all options. Brennan ;)? Could be an interesting move...

I think this week people will sideways Swan to try and get more points but its not worth it for me. Heppell can cover. What do you reckon on the forward upgrade? Geez Vardy did a great job too in hopefully keeping his spot!

charliesheen

PP, What does your team look like now, trades left, and cash.

Your still doing well mate.

PiggyPommy

Thank charlie. Still in the running for the 50k anyway.

Team is currently.

Backs: Lids, Newman, Gibbs, Enright, Goddard, H Shaw, Heppell (Lower, Jacobs, Hibberd)

Mids: Swan, Selwood, Bartel, Mundy, Priddis, Boyd (Bewick, Buckley, I Smith)

Rucks: Cox, Smith (Vardy, Keffee)

Forwards: Pavlich, Franklin, S Johnson, Sylvia, Goodes, J Roo, Darling (Lynch, A Johnson, Richardson)

10 trades, 239k in the bank.

charliesheen

Tough decisions mate, especially considering Franklin is likely to miss.

Chappy or not to chappy that is the question... Anyhoo his stats vs the Hawks

2011 - 120SC
2010 - 125SC
2009 - 121SC
2009 - 103SC
2008 - 121SC

Thinking about some funky plan like

Lower > Gilbert (where you can use him as a swing man)
Darling > Chapman, may mean we miss out on Mzungu ^^

Have Gilbert as the link man to cover the Geelong situation you may have

that leaves you with potentially 2 cash cows left in

Lynch > Callinan and Buckley > Browne/Tuohy if they can cement their spots

that leaves 6 trades where you can sideways trades to avoid donuts and injuries, or bring Sandi back.

PiggyPommy

Interesting move never thought of that.

Not sure about Gilbert il have to do some research this week and that may be better after the Saints bye anyway?

Someone else mentioned Swan > Ablett, Darling > Chappy/whoever but I dont think I will be trading Swan. Not worth it surely.

charliesheen

nah that trade does not make much sense ^^.

Gilbert is very very good.  I have been following him very carefully, especially last 2 weeks, where he has finally moved down back.

In the past, he has actually statistically matched Sam Fishers output, and I think he has been vastly ignored by many fantasy experts.

Also take into account there are only 2 good rookies that have the MPP, that is Alex johnson and mcKernan.  Seeing you have one of them I think this is a gamble that could pay off.

take into account a gilbert move will effectively be a D8, or F8, so I don't see it as an issue coz you can swing him either way.  I think what you need to question is whether you want to bring in Mzungu, and delay the forward premium.

A rookie bench of

Lynch (eventually callinan), Mzungu, Alex JOhnson (with gilbert as swing man) is pretty damn good coverage.

PiggyPommy

True. I had a look at his scores, 81 av isn't wonderful but he is worth considering. Do I really need that MPP mind you with the cover I do have? Im of the opinion that I don't.

charliesheen

with the amount of geelong players you have i reckon the coverage will be very handy come end of season.

think of like this...

eventually your going to need a D8.  Your already behind the 8 ball because you don't have petrie that can switch around.

So its either you do something like this, or bring in someone as Didak as the D8, or act as a Petrie of some sorts

PiggyPommy

Do you mean F8 mate?

Darling will be my F8.

The trade this week I had planned was Lynch > Boomer. Leaving Darling, A Johnson and Richardson all on the pine in the forward line with Smith MPP in the middle to help cover.

charliesheen

Hmm that could work, I think you need to start thinking in terms of the best available, and if need be sideways trade your way around problems in future rounds.

Not sure if I have boomer on that list atm.

PiggyPommy

Who would you have ahead of him? He is a proven gun player, Brennan would be a nice unique mind you...

charliesheen

his fine, I just think north have too many injuries and his work load is quite a bit for his age now.

would have chappy & ROK ahead of him.

Spite

If you get ROK, you will have 5 outs (2 in back and 3 in forwards) come round 19. That won't work.

Brennan is unique but GC won't win many games, so I wouldn't really risk it unnecessarily.

Chappy option:

Get chappy for lynch. Swap him with I smith and play him as mids. Play darling as forward until swan comes back and then he will be F8 and nice cover.

Boomer option: same thing but with boomer haha

Chappy: When Geelong have their bye, trade out 2 geelong players. They play collingwood in the next round so the scores will probably be lower.

Boomer: Don't need to do this. May not (or may) score as high as chappy but saves trade and cover.

Either way, you can still pick up mzungu this week to. (leaves you wih 8 trades)

Cam richo had 41 possies in the VFL and may get a recall.

Finally, I would personally down grade someone in 2 rounds and upgrade lower (or hibberd/jacobs preferably) to a back premium to sit as cover. This may really help to cover 2 tigers being out in round 19 in the backline, and save you having to sideways heppell in round 24.

Good luck :)
