How many trades needed?

Iâ€™ am currently in 1st place (6-1) in a league thatâ€™s worth a bit of money. I think my team is in pretty good shape but I have used up 12 trades already. I was just wondering if I have over traded up until this point and what amount of trades should I have heading into finals if Iâ€™ am just going for the league win. My team currently looks like this:

backs: deledio, goddard, h shaw, gibbs, broughton, heppell, puopolo, (lower, toy, retzlaff)

mids: swan, selwood, boyd, goodes, priddis, harris (conca, wallis, mzungu)

rucks: cox, petrie (sandilands, derickx)

forwards: franklin, pavlich, chapman, j.riewoldt, n.riewoldt, s johnson, darling (Matera, tippett, richardson)

12 trades $60,000 cash

I was going to trade again this week. Matera to smith- conca to prem. But that would take me down to 10 trades and Iâ€™m not sure if Iâ€™ am leaving my self with enough trades to see out the rest of the year. Thoughts?

you should have about 4-5 trades left for finals.

Like you I'm coming first in my league on 6-1 and have 12 trades left.

I am planning on adding 3 guns in the coming week which will involve 4 trades (including a downgrade for cash).

I am planning on having at least 6, if not 8 trades going into finals.

Minimum of 6 trades at least for finals this year. Depending on whether you finish top 4 and have a week off, in which case your Geelong players are safe. I want the flexibility of being able to trade players out and back in to win my finals matches.
6 min trades if you finish top 4 and get the double chance
8 if you finish top 8 and think you can go the distance
NA if you're pants and you need to trade like hell to make the 8!

there is no difference in finishing 1st or 4th, so i would hold the trades u have than double trade the last 3 weeks of the minor round(if u have too) and leave 6 for the finals.
just also, make sure u leave 1 trade for heppell come grand final (which im sure u know)

This year is unique with the byes come finals time.

I rekon you should aim to have at least 8 up your sleeve if you have players from North Melbourne, Geelong, Carlton and Essendon.

Having good MPP coverage may be vital this year so you can juggle them around if you have too. Good luck 8)

i have 14 at the moment, but am charging up the leaderboard. have 2 more weeks of double trades then a couple of singles, then will be holding i reckon (fingers crossed!)

I've made sure i don't have many from those teams. Got no kangaroos. One cat one blue and one don. So that is 3 trades. So i reckon 6 left. Will have 8 left after about round 14 or 15 so 2 more for injuries in 5 weeks. I should be right

I would say aim for 6 trades left for the finals and about $100K in the bank, you will be in a really good position.

sounds good, cheers everyone. looks like keeping 6-8 trades for the finals is the go. I'll probably try get a couple more guns in my team and then pray for no LTI's!

I'm about the same position currently 1st on percentage (3 of us)...14 trades left, next week will be a tough game as I've been told my opposition is trading hard, had too many spuds this week, and he would have beaten my 1900 soundly.

I'll be trying to get 2 more prems in my mid field and then sit for LTI's most likely Hodge and Priddis first then Pendles last.

I will keep at least 6 trades come finals, the last two rounds I am playing current 2nd and an upcomer who has traded hard to come home.

Trades for the finals will be mostly sideways to get the performing prems in if I haven't got them, more Hawks, more Lions and more Dees (well 1, Sylvia), more WC. I do have 2 Cat and 2 Blue prems, which will be heading for a night off.

If its just league id say 6.. but maybe 4 if you have MPP and need charge up the ladder

Far out... im starting to think i should have pull the trigger earlier... currently sitting on 20 trades... 5th in my league (4-1-2), league is ranked 152 overall...

I missed out on some cash cow grabs damn it!

Need to Jump on Mzungu this week for starters, Josh Green from Brisbane is also on the bubble for downgrade target. 20 trades is a little much at this stage 14 - 16 woulld be ideal so my advice trade hard and well over the next few weeks.
