Fair enough, but I am just stating it as I see it. Cookie has said some harsh words towards nips and Canada while he was in his assistants role with Aust.

To me, it seems very hypocritical for him to be back onboard with Canada after some of the things he has said.

On a side note, how is it possible for someone to stay loyal to a particular country while undertaking an assistants role with another country?  Surely there is a conflict of interest in this scenario.

Well let's relate it to AFL. Simon Goodwin is currently an assistant coach at Essendon, but he is still expected to move back to Adelaide at some point and coach them because he is loyal to them. He is just gaining experience under others to better himself

Bazinga

So in your example, would Simon Goodwin move back to Adelaide 'mid-season', or would he wait until the current season or term is finished?

CrowsFan

Well people thought he may have gone back when Craig resigned, but he still wants more experience away from the club.
Does it really matter?

Bazinga

I guess not.

I just remember the caning that Q got for changing countries, I don't see the difference between that and what cookie is doing.

As he said, he is only back to help with the Uneven pitch. He may be kept after that when nips realizes that he is an asset to the management team. He was the better candidate of the 2 and I think the past 10-11 weeks or whatever have proven that as far as the U19 tours and friendlies have gone.

Sure there is a conflict of interest but only if you let there be one. If you are 'professional' about it then there isn't a big deal. but the big difference about cookie saying things about Q is, Q left for the position. Cookie didn't. Cookie left to better himself. Second the position was gone, he didn't just jump to another county like Q did. He still hung around the Australian camp until he was asked to help out by nips.

Bazinga

To be honest with you Shaggy, for someone like me who has no knowledge about what was going on, it did seem like cookie WAS jumping to another country. Especially with some of the things he was saying about nips and Canada after the elections.

Like I said before, it seems very odd to me that he would be back onboard as an assistant with Canada after what he has said, regardless of whether he is still active on their off-site.

Love you too shaggy, nice to know what you really think of me.

I hardly jumped ship.  I got asked to trial with australia.  And before making my decision I discussed it with a canada legend and mentioned it on the off site. They didn't take it as betrayal. They told me to take it but not forget my roots. I am still highly active in both and only assistant for this game.  Bb is just showerty because he got sacked so I could come in and have a look.  Don't worry bb you should be back in your position today

Not quite sure what you mean BB as I didn't say anything bad about you at all?

But that isn't how you made it seem cookie. You bagged the crap out of nips and Canada when you weren't elected as Nat manager and decided to take up an assistants role with Australia. It's all too convenient for you to say that you were just 'trialling' and 'getting experience' with Australia, now that your time with them has ceased.

Why was this never mentioned while you were actually in the Australian assistants role?

BB has every right to be upset .. he is the one who stayed loyal while you decided to 'get some experience' with Australia. Now you come back to Canada and take his spot.

Welcome to the world of NT Management. Comes and goes easily.

Baz you dont really know what you are talking about. I didnt decide to take up the assistants role with Canada. I was originally gonna knock them back in that I was talking to Donny about it. It wasnt until talking to him that i decided to do the position. and i am pretty sure i did mention it in one of the threads

Considering the australian management all new i was involved with Australia and they wanted to give me the experience and gain the knowledge from them. They all told me they expected me to go for Canada again. The manager said i showed potential with my election campaign.

He isnt fully sacked though he will be back in the management team some time today

Unfortunately for Cookie, he made the biggest mistake on an Uneven in T20 and bowled first. :x BAT!

I can see it now. Okay DZ said bat first on uneven. He told me dont go to aggressive unless you have power on your side. Personally i feel the best 2 bowlers need to close the match. Pick the orders based on fatigue now
