Ok i am looking to upgrade a Midfielder this week and i am looking at Marc Murphy. I dont really watch carlton much and dont really know many off there players so i am asking someone who supports them what marc is like?

The pros of Marc that i have found are:
He is cheap at $417 and a low BE at 106.
He has got a easy week this week against the Demons then a easy as draw till round 16?
His team is improving so it will mean more ball for him :)

I am not sure about this guy can people please give me some light on him?

elephants

Had him locked in as my 6th mid until i caught wind of a little players called Joel Selwood

He'll be very good make no mistake but i am taking a more premiumer premium :)

He will be my 5th for me.Dal Santo behind him?

thanme

More like Dal Santlol.

My biggest put-off for Marc Murphy is his finals bye.

Bye is the issue I have also, how many other carlton players do you have?

Only Gibbs

he is just a gun...

get him if you can...great value at his price.

if you have gibbs, I assume he sits in your back line - so really not a problem come bye round ?

Yeah Gibbs happily sits in my defence so no problem with the bye :)

i'm still astonished at how few people have him. i think because of the attention judd & gibbs receive every year, coupled with the hype around duigan & curnow has meant that many people have forgotten about marc...

Yes he had a low score against the pies but that's an anomaly in an otherwise very good season, he's kept his value and generally does well against the dees, and without Jamar and no need to tag Davey (injured) he'll be getting a lot of clearances I think, he's added a bit of a harder edge to his game, as was required of him...

He's in my team along with Bartel, Boyd, Swan, Pendlebury and Judd for my midfield

@elephants - more premier premium?
Murph is averaging more than Selwood & dont say its because Selwood got knocked out because dont forget murph missed most of a game with a shoulder injury.
As far as im concerned murph will average more than Selwood by seasons end.
All that said if i didnt already have jimmy Bart i would havethem both ;)

elephants

yeah sure ahah
discount the two injury games and Selwood dominates though.

Ziplock

selwoods averaging over 120 excluding his 27 concussion (which he was also on target for 120), murphy had an injury affected score, but it was no where near as sevre, and selwood's scored over 120 in his last 4 games. No brainer for me.

I would only be concerned about his finals bye tbh.

Ziplock

I wouldn't even bother coin tossing, hands down selwood.

+ he has the advantage of you may be able to miss his bye for finals.

elephants

Selwood was tails
Murphy was heads
Selwood - 3
Murphy - 0
Selwood it is!
