Krak won't be going because hes not allowed into the USA. So you can 100% rule him out of being one of the players

^ true that. I can probably deal with a lack of swan for the next couple of weeks, with dpp and a strong enough bench, I should be sweet as.

Krak won't go, imo. He'll make $$$ while Swanny's away - assuming it will take more than just the bye. If it was only taking the bye, why not send the whole team?

Firstly, Krak can't get in.  Just like preseason - his criminal record prohibits him from even entering the US.  And as for sending the whole team, the article says it requires 12 days to get the max benefits of the high altitude training.

Unless that statement was a joke, i don't think either of those options are even a faint possibility.

maybe right after their game before their bye? That gives them like 2 weeks for max benefits. Or, they could just send over the 10 players who need it most the week before the bye- Melbournes a pretty poor team, collingwood may be able to beat them fielding their B side :P

yorgis

could be maxwell, not that anybody would have him tho'. anyway its not to say that swanny's been giving us 130+ every

week, should just treat it as  2-3 week injury to anyone of your premos, a la jolly, watson, sandi etc. no big deal

bundyboy

ahh....music to my ears.....

go swanny - with my blessing....

I'll pick you up when you are back !  ;D

its quite funny that collingwood can afford private chatterd jets and these altitude training sessions, when some teams cant even afford to use their whole salary cap. Anyway i see this as a positive news for DT unless it means guys like didak and pendles missing aswel. Swan is obviously carring an injury and it is hurting his scores so i dont mind a guy like hibberd filling in for 2-3 weeks and than swanny should be back to 120+ and lock in captain when he returns. Much better than having a 11- average swan for the rest of the year.

Montag

swan is going. him, nathan brown and some rookie. they want them to recover from their injurys or some bullshower. heard it on radio this morning

that is what memberships do for a club... they probably have the most expensive member packages and the most members.....

+1. If not for the new clubs coming in this year and next, I think we would've seen Collingwood build a Brisbane-like dynasty which would've probably been longer lasting. Hopefully lack of good draft picks and salary cap keeps them down, but the AFL would have to have concerns over this move. But judging Demetriou's agenda (Kennett calls Demetriou a "benevolent dictator": http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/afl/hawthorn-president-jeff-kennett-slams-afl-dictator-andrew-demetriou/story-e6frg1xu-1226063320813), I'm sure he'll be glad to see (probably all he'll see) the further globalisation of the AFL brand by Collingwood doing this. Coupled with Charlie Sheen coming to Australia and jumping on the Collingwood bandwagon, I'm sure there will be quite the media masturbation over Collingwood. Yuck.

Very good point - why don't Victorian football supporters become members of their clubs? A few have bucked the trend while others have been left behind. Do Collingwood, Hawthorn, and Essendon really have that many more supporters than the rest of the Victorian clubs?
