im getting rid of higgins, and will be removing tappy next week. higgins now has a BE of 164, which is fairly high for a guy who was a bargain earlier this year. time to jump off. tappy can wait, coz his price will go nowhere this week.

I'm keeping Higgins (assuming he's named). Honestly I think the majority of people are basing their decision on emotion rather than logic. I've had Higgins all year and like most Higgins owners I have been incrediably frustrated by the time he's missed and his performance last week. BUT when you consider all the factors it may not be so wise to trade him out:

  • It was his first game back - very rarely will players play well on their return from injury.
  • His team got smashed by an in form Eagles team, who have an extremely effective forward press this season. This press limits the amount of ball going into the opposition forwardline, which was where higgins was playing, thus limiting his opportunities and affecting his score. The Eagles press has also greatly affected dream team scores - opposition team have totaled 20 tons against them all year, an average of 2.5 tons per game. To put that in perspective Collingwood has had 25 tons scored against them (Tip to Fenno). Does this excuse Higgins' poor score? No, but it should be considered.
  • He was playing on Adam Selwood who used to be the no.1 tagger at the Eagles (seems Scott Selwood has picked that up). Selwood was playing a defensive role on Higgins (possibly even tagging him)
  • He's a premium, who is back playing - one of the golden rules is to never trade out a premium!! (barring long term injuries or a significant and prolonged drop in form (broughton springs to mind). If you've held higgins when he was out, why would you trade him now when he's back playing?

It's a personal choice but I for one am keeping him. Should he pump out another shocker, he'll get the boot.

i cant tell if these guys are intentionally making you pick the wrong decision or they are just clueless. You are doing 2 trades to get out a premium and bring one in. Higgins has averaged 100 prior to being subbed of for stitches. His injury last week has nothing to do with his injury that kept him out for a few weeks, so why keep him all this time and than get rid of him when he gets subbed of for what is probably only a 1 game thing.  It is very likely that both guys will average around the same, maybee chappy 5-10 more but thats not worth 2 trades. Plus chappy isn't exactly a risk free player.

A much smarter move would be the tappy/ darling downgrade and upgrade Harris to a premium, that way you have 1 extra premium instead of the same.

Im sorry to be blunt but im sick of people dissing higgins.
