Hey guys!  Don't laugh!  First season.....

So I'm playing really aggressively on trades to try and make the finals.

My team currently looks like:

B: Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Suckling, Duigan, Pratt [Hurley, Thompson, Lisle]

M: Swan, JP Kennedy, Libba, Hartlett, Dwallow, Wright [Heppell, Higgins, Bennell]

R: Trengove, Jolly [Sandi, Fraser]

F: Goodes, JackRoo, Dangerfield, Jurrah, Stokes, Krakouer, Schneider [Monfries, Richardson, Ugle]

Bank: $8,500

Right now my thoughts are:  Jurrah and Higgins HAVE to go.  Thinking:

Higgins -> Mzungu

Jurrah -> Pav OR Fyfe (Seeing as I'm going for league, Pav is instalock over Fyfe?)

then next week

Dwallow -> Chappy

Would leave me with 6 trades (I know I'm not going to win the league so where's the harm in burning when you're in 10th? :P)

And then somewhere down the line let Bennell ripen, downgrade him/ upgrade Thompson.

I'm worried about my rucks though, Trengove has topped out, but pretty much all my rucks are midpricers.

Thanks for any advice at all!

ok bro, i'll try to give u some help..  firstly next year less on the mid-price players, 1 or 2 in each position is ok,but yeah u needed more premiums.   ok that said.
you want to make finals, i gather its just a public league so lets start, firstly lets look at the keepers. i think keep higgins(he will play again, maybe haha) atleast he is mpp.  im not sure how long hurley is out for downgrade him or thompson to jacobs and then move heppell to the backs. that will tighten the backline and leave it alone after that.
keep trengrove(atleast he is playing) maybe go fraser to petrie. when sandi starts playing again trade tippet(gc) into the forwards, and swap petrie to the forward line. that should set your rucks.
maybe mzunga for richardson, so u can swing higgins to forward(if he plays)
and at some point u need a premium in the mids , maybe upgrade wright to selwood/pendles/mundy
KEEP swallow(he has no more byes left and is a solid performer)
  so re-cap  this week  fraser--->petrie,   hurley/thompson----->jacobs
next week   richardson----> mzunga,  wright----> premium midfield
  then no trading until sandi comes back in and go  schneider/monfries/ugle----->tippett(gc)

upthemaidens

so in 2 weeks that will have your team at
  goddard, gibbs, shaw, suckling, pratt, heppell, duigan  (thompson, lisle, ????) i just realized u are missing a backmen
  swan, (selwood?), kennedy, hartlett, libba, swallow  (mzunga, jacobs, bennell)
  petrie, trengrove  (sandi, jolly)
  goodes, jroo, danger, jurrah, krakouer, stokes, higgins  (schneider, monfries, ugle)

   and when sandi comes back rucks and forwards will look like
   sandi, jolly  (trengrove, tippet(gc) )
   goodes, jroo, danger, jurrah, stokes, higgins, petrie (krakouer, schneider, ugle)
that will leave u 5 trades for injuries over the last 8 weeks or so
  hope that helps some way

Very interesting, thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately I kinda forgot to look at this before I made my trades.  But in hindsight I kinda like them.

Midpricers was a really obvious problem.

Anyway, this week I brought in Mzungu for (infamous) Higgins and Pav for Jurrah.  My favourable league run over the next few weeks means I'm not to fussed about not having a second ruckman.  Fraser will be chopped next week for Bailey/Vardy/Griffin(if the spud can actually play) if he doesn't play.  That'll give me two straight upgrades, Dwallow -> Chappy and Thompson -> Enright /Newman.

Keeping Dwallow is very tempting- but so is his price! :P  Between him and Libba I've been slightly more impressed by Libba's ability, and seeing as Dwallow's price tag tipping over $340k I can cull him over Libba.  That said, I could go with either one as a keeper.

As for the missing defender, it was Jacobs.

Anyway, thanks for the food for thought!
