Gary ablett has in my opinion has like 40% of below 90 and 40% of above 120, with the last 20% falling between.

On my gut, he'll hammer it against geelong.

GC will get pumped most weeks so there shouldn't really be a difference between the cats and the other opposition he plays. scores of 80-85 last three rounds before the 156 needs to be considered very heavily.
Why is it that he scored that 156 tho?  What factors were in place for him to score that much on 1 occassion when he has been below par scoring only 80-90's.  Before that 156 he had only hit the ton 2 times b4 that...questions need answering!

So GAJ plays the Cats this week and has a B/E of 71.  Priced at just over 400k ppl are thinking this is the lowest GAJ will be all year.

I do however feel that he won't have such a good week as he will be getting so much attention from the cattery.  This is not only because its his old team and they wanna rough him up, but because they know exactly how he plays and will be able to read him like a book.

Any other team and I would have snapped up the chance to get him in...but I won't be this week for the above reasons.

Thoughts?

the smart move is not to get him in this week. its is very possible that he will get a sub 100 score this week so wont go up that much in price. it also gives you another week to see how he is going if he comes out and gets 120+ just bring him in the week after only 20k more. for me im getting in chappy this week and than i might get gaz depending on how well he and plendles goes as its between those two.

I think you guys are grossly underestimating how good Gary Ablett is. His fitness has been steadily increasing since his first game and was always going to take a while this year till he felt back to 100%. Doesn't matter who he's playing against or with, when he's on he literally cannot be stopped. You really think an aging Cameron Ling can curb Gazza? I'm not only bringing him in this week but very seriously considering him for captain over Swan... :o

to be fair, everyone has good days and bad days. I think it's a form turn around and he'll boost his avg from now, but to see both sides, he could have just played his best game of the year.

I've never played a full game of afl, although when I was a little younger I used to play soccer, and I was pretty flowering good as well. That being said, there were some games when I would just suck, I would spend a game with every kick going astray, missing tackles, getting frustrated and just failing in general.

Then I'd have my ordinary games where I would out class the majority of the players on the field

Then, on that rare occasion, I would have a really good game, and when that happens (I doubt it matters what sport it is), you can be unstoppable, nothing can get near you, nothing can touch you and you'll just flog everyone within an inch of their lives without a moments pause.

the question is, has Gablett been performing at a sucky level all season, and was this a very good game, or has he been performing average and was this a very good game.

I put this at about 50/50.

I'm going to put Gaz captain this week not just because I feel he'll dominate but also because I think this has been a great thread and will make for some interesting comments post-match on Sat night. Can't wait to hear the 'I told you so's'....haha

Bring it home for Bill you bald legend!  ;)

That's what I meant; If ablett gets like 85 you'll all be on my back so hard about how he was a bad selection/captain choice. All good, I welcome the challenge  ;)
