Hi,

Sorry for the long post. let me know if it was not approriate or in the wrong spot.

This is my first year playing dreamteam and have no idea about AFL.
So far I am doing  well, highest score on our league overall and Round 9 = 2230, and have not lost a game.

I picked my teams mainly through working on last year's results and had some initial conditions which needed to be met to be in my team. It seems to have worked.

I have been happy to trade whilst playing other big scorers in my league, although will stop soon.
Now, with Aaron Sandilands and Jobe Watson out, I am at a bit of a loss on who to trade this week (or even to bother).

I would like to win this week against someone who scored just below me last week.
My opponent does NOT have Aaron Sandlilands in his team at all so does not lose a big scorer from his team. In fact, his rucks are Cox and Z. Smith

So, I would like some advice if possible.

Here is my team and my first thoughts on trades are below that.

Team:

SCORING PLAYERS from Round 9:

Defenders
1. Deledio (DEF)    108
2. Gibbs (DEF)    96
3. Adcock (DEF)    118

8. Swan (MID) (Capt)    188
9. Boyd (MID) (VC)    102
10. Swallow (MID)    116
11. Goddard (MID)    122
12. Bewick (MID)    36
13. Hibberd (MID)    80

Rucks:
14. Cox (RUC)    125
15. Sandilands (RUC)    90

Forwards:
16. Franklin (FWD)    144
17. Goodes (FWD)    87
18. Pavlich (FWD)    80
19. Darling (FWD)    76
20. Petrie (FWD)    125
21. Grundy (FWD)    45
22. Krakouer (FWD)    80

My Bench:

5. Curnow (MID)    0
6. Swallow (MID)    0

Rucks:
7. Smith (RUC)    0
8. Keeffe (RUC)    0

Forwarders:
9. Matera (FWD)    0
10. Richardson (FWD)    0
11. Harper (FWD) (Emerg)    26

Trades Left = 16
My remaining salary cap = $15,500

My thoughts on trades:
(a) Keep Aaorn Sandilands until he heals
(b)For trades, two of the following
Trade 1
- Andy Otten or Jesse O'Brien or Shaun McKernan  = OUT
- Paul Puopola = IN
This would give me some cash for another Trade 2

Trade 2
- Heath Grundy or Jack darling = OUT
- one of Nathan Fyfe, brent harvey or Nick Riewoldt = IN

Trade 3
- Brendan Goddard = OUT
- Paul Chapman = IN
I should have gotten rid of Brendan Goddard a while ago...

Trade 4
- ?? = OUT
- Mzungu = IN
Gets me some cash and just in case his value goes up...money in the bank for later.

Trade 5
- ?? = Out
- Joel Selwood = IN
Not sure how to get this trade in, though. Got to think about it.

Any advice or comments are welcome.

Thanks!

Chelskiman

Team looks good, especially for a first year player.  Grundy looks to be your weak link in the forwards, so I'd bring in somebody else.  Harvey is a good option, but keep in mind he will be out in the first week of the finals.  I'd go N. Riewoldt as he seems to be getting back into some form, and had a great scoring round last time out.  I'd also be looking to upgrade Curnow into a premium mid if you can.

Problems

Keep Sandi you have adequate cover with Zmith

1. The Puopolo Train has left, maybe get in Jacobs from Port for any of those 3, maybe Otten if he's not named this week
2. Agree Grundy is a weak spot. Fyfe playing amazingly, NRoo might have found his mojo again, Harvey is good but is older than most so I'd avoid
3. Keep God especially after last weeks performance
4. Mzungu can way til next week to trade in
5. Jelwood is a beast and with only Enright in your team he will fit in well

thanks for the replies.

@Chelskiman
grundy and berwick do look to be a bit weak  (compared to others) now you mention it.
curnow, with his injury, may be a good trade out, too...forgot about that.
thanks for the tip on Brent Harvey and the finals. that is something i forget about as a new player.
so, to get Riewoldt I will have to trade out someone else for the cash (probably Trade 1, bringing in Puopola)

@Problems
yes, i wanted Puopolo last week but made a mistake with my first trade and had to recover on the second
Joel Selwood might require a bit of manipulation- he is pretty expensive.
looks like i need to make a trade to get ghe cash for anything i need to do.

thanks for the assistance.

Problems

No worries mate good luck with it all, and also, welcome to Fan Footy! Definitely best site I use for DT and SC!  ;D
