Watching AFL: On the Couch. They just said that Richmond is number one in the league for disposal efficiency. That is amazing! We're on the up!!!

to be honest watching the game in the first quarter, i dont think these stats could be correct but compared to watching port they were clean as!

I'm just going by what I heard. Some of the Richmond ball movement has been amazing this year, so maybe that's cancelling out all things ineffective. It is also dependent on what the AFL stats consider "disposal efficiency".

I'd have thought so. But a lot of the good teams don't need to hit targets if they can win the majority of 50/50 balls from contests. So maybe that makes a difference. Plus, Richmond have been hitting targets excellently in patches... Maybe it's enough?

I would thought with all the kick to kick hawthorn do, that they'd be top. Were the saints top for the last couple of years?

It's understandable that a young team will have ups and downs, but losing to Port is unacceptable! They're the worst team in the comp.

Greasy conditions caused the poor disposal against port, but the loss still hurts. The reason we are number 1 in DE is because our contested possession numbers are terrible this year. In years gone by we have been very strong at winning the 50 50 ball but not so this year and because so many of our possessions are uncontested it means it's easier to hit up a target.
