Master Q

Will Q open up an Ask Q thread on Friday night?  ;)

gareth

Hey Ziplock, who should I get rid off first? Tapscott, LThompson, Bewick? Or Should I do a double downgrade?

TheBeatles

Dunham29

How long should i hold onto Atley, Richardson and Batchelor?

What should I do?

BACKS:
Lids, Gibbs, Enright, Shaw, Lower, Broughton, Heppell (Jacobs, Stanley, Puopolo)

MIDS:
Swan, Boyd, Selwood, Goddard, Conca, Harris (Gaff, Hibberd, I.Smith)

RUCKS:
Cox, Sandi (Smith, McCauley)

FWDS:
Slyvia, Franklin, Goodes, Didak, N.Roo, Stevie J, Darling (Matera, Prestia, Richardson)

17 Trades left $39,100 in bank

Goddard will go to my backline when my midfield is complete - replacing Lower when he is ready to cull. Intend on keeping Heppell.

Windigo

Too bad if "Zippy's" advice backfires.  :P

For sure. But still you wouldn't take someone's word as the right thing. Better to think a bit before anything.

I think Q should, since I leave work for my two hour commute at 5.30 and therefore cannot help all last minute freakouts :P

As much as I don't want to say it, you may have to sit tight for a while, I'll just go through my logic with you
1. with the money in the bank, for any viable upgrade/ downgrades that you'll need to double trade, and this leads to a couple of problems
2. the problems
defence: best bubble is jacobs, who you already have, nobody else really worth consideration for downgrading
midfield: even more trouble, once again, no viable options other than mzungu, but you don't have any CCs ripe for the picking as of yet, you could downgrade conca/harris, but that would leave you needing to field the auto-sub, a non-playing player or your downgrade target. If you trade out the auto-sub (gaff for anyone who hasn't picked it up), you don't make nearly enough cash to do a viable upgrade
rucks: smith downgrading would look like your only option... BUT sandilands is out for a month... you're going to need smith
forwards: essentially your only options here. Prestia + richo won't make enough cash to do a decent upgrade, although imo richo needs to go anyway. That leaves really matera and darling, and downgrading either one of those (to mzungu or lynch) is a pretty sizeable gamble, as should your downgrade stop playing, you have no bench cover.

However, imo your most viable downgrade at this point in time is probably darling to lynch, or breust I guess even though he won't have the same scoring potential (presuming you have no intention of keeping darling as an 8th/7th fwd), this'll leave you with about 180k from my estimates, you could use this cash to upgrade conca to a premium in essence of your choice, although with the way he's been playing recently, personally I wouldn't, or cut harris short prematurely and turn him into any premium under 400k. Which, for worthwhile premos, there's not a lot to pick from.

Seriously, it looks like atm your team will be better off sitting tight until some more CC's have matured.

Thanks Zippy - Really have put it in perspective. I wasnt planning on trading but with a few bad rookies and coping the grimes/curnow (like most people) was hoping to have more trades... (also bringing in shaw this week hurt me :() hindsight, woudnt have traded last week.

Been a good help Zip. Thanks.

Yes of course its better to think it through yourself. Thats why you have a plan before you post on the forum. A forum for me is to gather other peoples opinions and points of view.... can often put a different perspective on things or highlight factors you may have overlooked.

If I had to... Swallow, based on his higher BE and slightly lower average, although I wouldn't really want to trade either. Montagna is a proven performer, and is worth consideration especially after last weeks monster effort, that being said though, it's the first game in a while the saints have actually played well in, and if they slip off form again you will probably see tags' scoring depreciated. While, on the flip side Carlton have been carving up, and this is strongly reflected in murphy's huge average- dipping below the ton only 3 times (with a 98, an 80 odd and a poor 60 against collingwood), but otherwise thrashing it with 120+ scores. His byes in the finals are concerning, however he is still quite cheap. His good scores against geelong and sydney would indicate that the calibre of the opposition may not necessarily dampen his playing ability.

Although, his low scores did occur during carltons loss, draw and close st kilda game, which could be a worry. He does have an extremely easy draw from now on though, so for overall would be a good pick.

Atm, murphy looks safer than montagna, the only thing that would put me off is his finals bye.

I work at an IT company lol. I took a gap year from uni + the HSC to get some work before I go to europe :)

I think some people are definitely swayed by people opinions. Even if they DON'T like what they're saying.

actually windigo, my advice has been pretty solid these last couple of weeks, I seem to have a knack for calling everything right that isn't to do with my team. That being said, I am human like everyone else :P
